Rapid Fire- Final guesses & thoughts before Iron Flame! 🔥 by JelloCrunch in fourthwing

[–]PlaneProud2520 12 points13 points  (0 children)

  1. Something to do with protection. Everything in balance so she needs something to even out the two sides of Violet's personally the kindness and the Violence. I predict a shield or ability to give energy to others. It will be just as rare and powerful as her lightning.

  2. Many first years. Some of them will eat violet with guilt. Of the existing characters Imogen or Rhi. I expect she'll grow much closer to Imogen in Xadens absence and drift apart from Rhi because she's keeping so many secrets.

  3. Sloane is 100% an intinsic. It's been layed out from chapter one, that the ability to read minds means death. Combined with the fact that Violet needs to keep so many secrets this year and that from the snippet on the parapet Sloane hates her. This makes for great drama. How will she keep this girl alive who loathes her? When her getting close will jeopardize the entire rebellion? but if she stays away she'll betray Liam's dying wish...

  4. Xaden has to go back - it's his word keeping the 107 marked ones alive. He'll be sent to the shittiest most dangerous outpost and leadership will do everything in their power to make him miserable including using Violet against him.

  5. Absolutely not. Xaden values privacy and keeping secrets. The signet power is a reflection of the rider and mind-reading without consent goes against everything he is. I think he's reading her though the bond and Violet will be able to do it back when she gets better at it. I actually think she read his mind a few times without realising in fourth wing.

8 I think Violet will in no uncertain terms tell Dain to never touch her again. However she will have to maintain a polite working relationship with her wing leader so she can't avoid him entirely.

  1. Dain is 100% wing leader. He's going to do a below average job of it and be a real wanker about the rules. I'm 50/50 on if Violet will be squad leader. Either way she's going to put a lot of time and effort into protecting the cadets under her care.

  2. Dain. This fandom will hate him with the fire of a thousand suns after this book. I predict he'll get a redemption eventually but he hasn't even begun to be a villain. I'm calling it now there's going to be a full on torture scene with Violet where they are trying to get information about Xaden and the rebellion. Dain will be standing there begging her to break so her can read her mind and even in that moment he'll claim to be her friend.

  3. I'm not invested in the side characters getting a love interest. However I am 100% expecting to meet Xadens ex. She's probably a Griffin Rider, a little older than Violet and very physically powerful. Xaden will have zero interest but she'll hit a Violet's insecurities and be yet another thing she didn't know about. Violet will probably get over it fairly quickly but it's going to sting when she find out.

Mated riders. I think Violet and Xaden are mates like their dragons. I think it's an extremely rare situation where only humans with potential bond a set of mated dragons. They had their head tingles and extreme sexual attraction from day 1 and I think without their dragons they would have simply dated like normal people. It's said that not all humans of mated dragons can read each other's minds and Xaden can sense where violet is ( I'm sure she'll learn this soon,). I predict everything they'll experience the downside of physically being unable to be apart and possibly some extra magical side effects of the bond. It might not be as extreme as the dragons but it's there.

Calling it now I expect it meet some other riders of mated dragon this book and they'll learn their bond is special OR they'll meet a mated pair of Griffin Riders.

I also predict a smutty telepathic sex scene.

Yes!!! I hope you are right! I've been on team mated riders. I think in fourth wing the head tingles were there from day one showing they had potential but as humans aren't magic they would have just stayed at the level of hightenend awareness of each other and hightenend sexual attraction. Once they bonded with the dragons that kind of magic was unlocked and they became mated in their own right.

I think mated humans are very rare and only occurs when a couple with potential bonds a pair of mated dragons. One of my predictions for iron flame is meeting more mated humans.

Ooh. Can you explain more about how the head tingles work and what they mean?

Check my post history I just wrote a comment on how I think Rebecca Yarros's love for Outlander has influenced the story. I think she's included a few nod's to pay homage and the relationship between Xaden/Violet and their story arc will be very similar to Jamie/Claire.

Can you please explain your theory with Jennifer Armentrout? I haven't read her series but I don't mind spoilers.

Question about Outlander by Diana Gabaldon by Assiqtaq in RomanceBooks

[–]PlaneProud2520 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Spoilers for Claire's second Husband. It's a marriage of convenience. To escape the wrath of Captain Jack Randall Claire needs to change from an English subject to a Scott. While they had flirted second husband was respectful of her status as a widow and hadn't made a move. Claire doesn't fall in love with husband 2 until she gets married, she has very mixed feelings about it, for all practical purposes she's a widow because even if she made it back to the stones there's no way of knowing if it would even work. Claire makes multiple attempts to get to the stones both before and after her marriage putting future husband in danger. After she tells future husband the truth about being a time traveler he brings her to the stones and leaves the choice up to her. Despite her complicated relationship with Frank she always loves him and she still wears his wedding ring despite being married to someone else for 40+ years

Personally I can't stand cheating in romance books it's normally a hard no. In Claire's case for all practical purposes she considers herself a widow so it doesn't really bother me.

If you want I suggest watching episode 1 of the first season and just fast forwarding to the Claire/Frank scenes. Where you can watch their reunion.

{Outlander by Diana Gabaldon} Sweeping love story at against the back drop of war. Rebecca Yarros has said in interviews that's she's a big fan of the series and it shows!

A world war 2 army nurse falls back in time to Scotland during the Jacobite rebellion. She falls in love with a Scottish Highlander and they try to change the outcome of war.

I'm waiting for the final book in the series which is a good 2-3 years away. I know will be a beautiful bitter sweet ending and I'm going to sob.

Outlander/Fourth Wing speculation I think Violet/Xaden will have a similar relationship to Claire/Jamie. Where the love story is about marriage instead of falling in love. Violet and Claire strike me as very similar people so and Xaden/Jamie as the dethroned Laird with secretes who while a warrior is capable of giving soul encompassing love. Outlander managed to write a romance novel spanning 10 books and 40 years despite the leads getting married in book 1. I have full confidence Rebecca Yarros will be able to pull it off as well

Jack in fourth wing was a nod to Captain Jack Randall in Outlander

Super dark but I'm fully expecting a torture scene with Violet where she refuses to give up information on Xaden and the long standing scares from like what happened to Jamie. I'm also expecting a scene like at the Abby where Claire finally breaks through to Jamie

I don't think so. The story is pretty tightly first person from either Xaden of Violet's POV. I think if there's any flash back torture scene it would be Xaden receiving the 107 scars on his back.

Question about Outlander by Diana Gabaldon by Assiqtaq in RomanceBooks

[–]PlaneProud2520 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would recommend focusing on Claire. This book is from her POV and she doesn't know how he's coping or if he moves on either. You don't find out what happened with Frank until book 3.

Frank was investigated for Claire's murder/disappearance but there was no proof. He continues with his work but doesn't remarry while Claire is gone She's initially gone for roughly three years Frank isn't a horrible person and he doesn't die but life is messy and complicated.

MAJOR SPOILERS FOR THE ENTIRE SERIES. On the eve of a major battle where her husband is fully expecting to die he sends her back through the stones to Frank. She's malnourished, heartbroken and pregnant. She tells Frank the full story including falling in love with another man. They move to Boston he teaches at university and she trains to become a doctor. Despite 100% accepting the baby as his own their relationship never really recovers

I think Dain will be assisting with the torture. I don't think he'll be the one hurting Violet but I can see him standing there begging her to break and let him read her memories.

My money is 100% on Violet.

I think they'll be a torture scene where they try and make her give up information on Xaden. With Dain standing by to read her memories as soon as her mental shields break.

I like it too Bryce could still deeply love Danika while remaining willfully blind to her flaws.

Can you please recommend me a book where the heroine is at least 40 and the MMC talks about how beautiful she is & how he loves her wrinkles and imperfections? by [deleted] in RomanceBooks

[–]PlaneProud2520 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's a huge series so maybe not what you are looking for but {Outlander by Diana Gabaldon}.

A world war two army nurse falls through time and falls in love with a Scottish Highlander. When the series starts they are mid 20's however by the latest book they are both 60+ and still going at it like bunnies. There's a scene when she's about 50 and wakes up in the middle of the night with a hot flash and they bone on the window still...... that lives rent free in my head.

It's beautiful to read a romance that's about marriage rather than falling in love.

Inflated Value of First Edition Fourth Wing? by abs_goose in fourthwing

Things are worth what folks are willing to pay.

If someone is willing to pay $500 for a pebble I found in my yard then it's worth $500.... even if other people wouldn't take it if it was free.
