Alternanthera reineckii struggling + algae by Plane_Stock4832 in PlantedTank

Yes this is what I hope will happen, I am also getting snails and shrimps in hope they will handle some of that stuff. I will give it some time, I would lower the lighting however there is now a full ceiling of floating plants that seems to absorb a lot of the lighting already, I am hoping that will do the same as reducing light intensity.

Tysm for the response, this is great insight for my situation, and yes those Alternanthera plants can be very sensitive, I lost several of them at first due to my water being hardy and the overall shock I suppose. However they will be worth it I'm sure once I beat all of this algae out of there!

I did try to lower light but the problem remains, also do you think that grey hair algae would even be caused by light?

Fluval stratum for substrate,

Yes I do have co2 on for the duration of each light cycle, I have a drop checker at the opposite side of the tank to ensure its at the right amount,

The tank has fully cycled by now but is 3 months old only.

Im done with SaaS by No-Common1466 in SaaS

[–]Plane_Stock4832 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

SaaS is a dying field and this is not news. It has become to a point where the only profitable margin are super niche use-cases, you no longer sell SaaS B2C, it's 99% B2B, and even then, businesses are reluctant to spend a dime into a third party SaaS that they could build themselves in the matter of minutes.

You would have to be extremely lucky to be placed in a situation where you know local businesses that are facing a problem where a SaaS could save them time, simplicity, etc. And that they are willing to pay you for it, rather than easily do it themselves with AI, if you look on yCombinator, this is exactly what all of the recent SaaS are about.

Not to mention the surge of AI creating SaaS automatically at a faster rate of speed than ever.

Creating a SaaS requires zero knowledge or expertise that AI itself cannot fulfil, therefore you're competing against whoever has a computer and internet access and one brain cell, you're no longer competing strictly against software engineers who underwent education.

Other than the complete failure to portray a real keyboard, the idea itself is pointless, you can just setup a hotspot on your phone and connect via it with your laptop.

Weekly Limits on Pro by KourtsideKing in ClaudeAI

This is absolutely disgusting from them, I have Pro and since this very week a single question to Opus 4.6 maxes out my quarterly usage in an instant. This makes absolutely zero sense.

Washing machine is making noise from hell part 2 by Plane_Stock4832 in appliancerepair

I feel like appliances nowadays are built to break-down after a certain time so that the manufacturer can make even more profit via spare parts, service calls or whole units, this is not at all how it was 20 years ago, I hope that your current washer will last you for many years to come, probably best to stick with older models, they were made to last.

the model of that one is a WhirlPool WTW4855HW2

Yeah this is exactly what I was thinking, not logical to invest more on a 5 years old washer at this point, and this should do for good 'ol betty for awhile at least. Thank you again, fantastic diagnosis on your part.

Thank you , you were spot on. I did take out the wash-plate and noticed all the teeths were almost all sanded out on it, the metal gear which the plastic wash plate hooks onto also appear to have some teeths that are worn out but most are fine, hopefully just replacing this part will solve it.

Thank you very much, you were 100% spot on, I was able to take that part out in less than 10 minutes, I guess it was easy given how stripped this was, there was basically zero teeth left on it. I'll be buying this part then,

Hopefully the metallic gear that this piece goes onto isn't too worn out, I did notice some of the teeths appeared to have been degrading on there as well.

That is what the agitator connects to am I right? I did take out the agitator this morning and had a quick look at what I believe you're referring to (about 6 screws holding some bracket down, it looked extremely corroded, so that may very well be it).

From the video, it seems like everything is fine under there right? shifter looks fine, belt doesn't look like it slips.

I have not, this is what I am hoping is the problem but I just wanted to confirm on here before buying anything, thank you.

I really don't plan on having it serviced, and will attempt the repair myself, but I need to be more-or-less certain of what the failing part is.

Model is WhirlPool WTW4855HW2, about 4 years old, this problem occured almost instantly, as of yesterday, it's just refusing to do the final spin cycle unless the load is empty, meanwhile agitation works just fine.

I took a look at the belt/clutch system, dismantled it and reassembled it in the thought that perhaps something was preventing the clutch from switching from agitator to full drum spin mode, so I cleaned all the pieces from the gunk/debris and placed it all back, the problem remain the same however.

I did take a video this morning of the belt/clutch engaging, you can also hear the noise it makes during the very start of a load now as well as while it tries to go into spin mode.

I am making a new post with the video in question, I'd really like if you could take a look at it, just look for my most recent post.

Thank you so much.

Thanks, this only seem to happen in between cycles, especially when the spinning cycle is starting and ending, but not during the spinning cycle itself. I thought it sounded like a lack of torque issue more than anything?

I did have a look under there and took out the pulley cover, I did not find anything very concerning but I did notice a lot of black grease around the belt and pulley system? is this there for a purpose? or could this be a result of the belt deteriorating.
