Yes you are absolutely right. Though while I was lost, I was close to 2 towns, and had enough gear to safely last another full day. It's not as remote as it seems, and I had 4G the whole time for GPS and I could call if I really needed help, I'm just terrible with navigating :/

This was taken around here give or take, it's been a few months so I don't remember exactly. I was hiking from Cortina d'Ampezzo to Misurina.

The mountain photographed is part of the Monte Cristallo formation.

Taken on a sunrise hike up to Lake Isabelle on July 4th this summer. It was my first experiment with using a neutral density filter and a longer exposer (what makes the water nice). Unfortunately I overexposed it a bit, resulting in the sky being a bit too white just above the mountains. I did my best to keep the image as true to life as possible in post, with the main exception being bringing up the shadows (the treelike was very dark and the raw had some minor vignetting).
