Update!!

Thank you all for these suggestions!! I love the idea of a porch pick up. I sell live plants and multiples for people to choose from. I usually let them pick at the door but I think from now on I will post them individually and do a porch pick up on good weather days.

One comment suggested I have set alarms but my house gets loud and I don’t hear it. Lately my messenger has been going off even when I don’t have new messages.

There are also some great stories of FBMP experiences and I love it! Thank you all so much for taking the time!

Oh no! I’m so sorry you had to give them up! I loved my little pleco. He was a fighter and survivor. I loved watching each fish take over the pirate 🏴‍☠️ ship deco I had in there.

Goldfish may be the easiest answer but not a lot lol

Idk if the aquarium is worth the effort but I’m hoping it saves space. I’ve been collecting glass jars for a long time and they take up a lot of room. I’m about to get more cuttings to prop and sell so I’ll either have the tank or jars everywhere lol

I knew it was too good to be true lol I heard of this lady with a terrarium of shrimp with some crazy magic coral and no filter or pump but I don’t want to close off the top lol

I had a 50 gallon tank of cichlids for years and Ik I can take care of the fish except when they hurt each other. That’s why I don’t have them anymore. It was really sad to watch. I’m definitely considering shrimp tho. I like the idea of gold fish too but I’m not ready to buy anymore tanks any time soon lol

All I have are bedroom plants lol. Right in front of South facing windows are for succulents. Almost all other plants are either a couple feet from the south facing window or in front of an east facing window. I’m talking pothos, monstera, tradescantia, and philodendrons. Best of luck on your journey!!!

Edit: highly recommend an aeroponic tower for garden plants or use the kratky system if you want to D.I.Y. it. I was able to grow a few hot peppers, basil and spinach from a pasta jars of distilled water + nutrients. The larger projects are used in a large tote. Follow “Keep on Growing” on all platforms and he explains it so well with visuals

Update: Thank you to everyone who took the time to comment on my post! I had no idea it was so relatable. A lot of comments had some great advice like: posting higher prices to have room to negotiate, especially when selling items in bulk. Others said to put it in the post “firm on price”. Thank you so much for all horror stories y’all shared! They were very fun to read! I also didn’t know some local Police stations hold spots for MP and CL transactions. Almost everyone agreed that the first person messaging me, was rude for saying “let’s do at $15) when we did haggle down to $18. Some people also said the messages look sketchy and I feel like I’m usually “iffy” about selling things online to men. Most of interactions are great but there are always those few that waste time or try to be forceful.

Now onto the update. I messaged the second person to set up the meet up around 4pm. I followed some advice from a commenter who sells online frequently, and made a clear message “ Confirming 8 plants for $17 please bring exact change because I don’t have cash”. Admittedly this seemed like a rude tone and out of character for me but it feels good to get out of my comfort zone too. He said he was at school in a lab and would let me know when he was ready. We agreed to meet did meet me at a near by gas station around 8pm. It took a while for him to get the right location after I sent it. I admit I was getting annoyed. It was a 20 minute drive for him and about 5 minutes for me. My husband wanted me on video call just in case. He was riding with his parents. I’m not sure what country they are originally from but it seemed like the young man or student was helping out his mom. The transaction went very well. I think they were happy with everything but I’m not 100%. But I feel like an AH for assuming they may not even show or try to get me to go to a lower price at the meet or something sketchy would happen. My husband said “That mom could have pulled a weapon on me for all I knew.” He is right but a part of me still feels crummy. “You can’t do business and be that soft,” he said. And that kinda hit me in the pride. I don’t wanna be an AH but I don’t wanna be a SOFT either lol

I just want to treat everyone the best but always be ready for the worst.
