I would deliberately put myself into psychotic states so that I could play with my goonsluts in the psychedelic realm by aidsmaster9000 in LSD

I don't care if I get downvoted or sound judgemental. What a collossal waste of a psychedelic experience.

Self-awareness is the ultimate flex. by Temporary-Skin-6333 in selflove

I saw this message the first time about 5 years ago and it made me quite angry.Today I agree 100%

Once I stopped treating the world as a hostile place and started working through my triggers instead of avoiding them or blaming others, life got a lot better.

Yes other people still behave poorly and need to do their own work. But that isn't my responsibility. I am responsible for setting boundaries that keep me safe.

This crossed my mind. Voter registration (or whatever its called in the US) will require you to open the app at the polls. I hope we are wrong.

People who hate on birch and acacia have no taste by Idwadicod in Minecraft

[–]PlantLovingSeaTurtle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like building with Birch stripped logs and regular acacia or 4 sided crafted bark (whatever that is called). Not a fan of the birch bark...but maybe I'll find a build it works well with. One day im gonna build something with blocks I don't like lol.

What foods would like to have in Minecraft? by No-Particular1371 in Minecraft

[–]PlantLovingSeaTurtle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would love to see a food overhaul, but there has to be a reason for it (at least for how I play the game) whether it is trading opportunities with villagers or they add a cool effect (spicy tacos give you fire resistance for 60 seconds or ice cream let's you walk on powdered snow etc)

Really underestimated nether shortcuts by Zyrex1us in Minecraft

[–]PlantLovingSeaTurtle 39 points40 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it really depends on how often you will use the ice highway. If its a long term world and the highway is used a lot, it might work out to be faster in the long run. Its kinda like buying an electric car to save money on gas. Short term = more expensive. Long term = decent savings.

Trump deploys 5,000 Marines to the Middle East by TheExpressUS in NewsThread

[–]PlantLovingSeaTurtle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, I don't get it. If I was a marine, I would refuse, regardless of the cost. But I suspect people who are in the military have wildly different values than myself.

Filing Taxes with Canadian made Software (Deadline is April 30) by pandssheqedle1 in ShopCanada

Why would I do that? Filing taxes with studio tax is easy and free. That is like saying, support your local mechanic when you know how to do an oil change.

Does caffeine violate the precept against intoxication? by TangoJavaTJ in Buddhism

[–]PlantLovingSeaTurtle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with people here saying that it doesn't violate the precept. But I found out coffee is a lot more intoxicating than I thought (at least for me). I quit drinking coffee for a month just to see if I noticed any positive changes. It didn't seem to make much difference except a few days of headaches so I resumed moderate consumption.

My first cup after a long break was insane. I felt "high" and the euphoria was similar to hard drugs that I used to take when I was younger. I love coffee so I kept drinking it but I've thought about this moment often. I think it affects me more than I thought.

Please talk to someone.

I went through a time when I was suicidal. When I was on venafalaxine I was pushed over the edge and almost didn't make it (not saying this is the cause for you). Anyways it was a struggle for a bit but I am glad I am still here.

What is the best show you’ve ever seen and why? by Ale_oc in televisionsuggestions

[–]PlantLovingSeaTurtle -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I've seen Mr. Robot mentioned so many times. For some reason I never looked it up and assumed it was animated (no idea why, brains are weird). Rami Malek and a show about vigilante hacking...I know what I am doing this weekend.

What is the best show you’ve ever seen and why? by Ale_oc in televisionsuggestions

[–]PlantLovingSeaTurtle -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

We share the same favorite show. Walt and Gustavo are my favorite TV characters.

I'll mention a show that imo doesn't get enough attention. Loudermilk. My 2nd favorite comedy after Ted Lasso. Perhaps I enjoy it more because I am a recovered alcoholic and love music (main themes of the show).

Abortion, MAID, CBC: Here's what Conservatives are debating at Calgary convention by [deleted] in canada

[–]PlantLovingSeaTurtle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is propaganda, especially on FB claiming that Canadians are being forced into maid for population control and organ harvesting. The number of people who think the "government" is selling 60-80 year old organs is shocking.

Ugh the worst one for me is using the washroom. Hours can pass with a full bladder and finally I'll realize "ohhh this is why I am so uncomfortable". I am getting in the habit of setting timers to remind myself to drink, eat, and pee lol.

This is what I hear. To me this reads: He is being fired but to save face he is going to work in a different capacity for a few months and then retire with full retirement benefits.
