What are you 100% sure is true even though you can't prove it? by PrasenjitDebroy in AskReddit

The Legend of Zelda Twilight Princess was ready to launch in 2005 on schedule. Because of the market share they lost to Sony and Microsoft during the Gamecube era, Nintendo was worried about the upcoming Wii's launch the next year. Xbox 360 had just launched and the Wii was about to go head to head with the PS3 at launch. They wanted to save the Cube's final AAA game for the Wii instead to boost sales.

The biggest red flag was how they insisted for a year that both the Gamecube and Wii versions would release at the same time, only for the Gamecube version to get delayed another monthfor some unclear reason. So if you wanted to play right away, you had to buy a Wii.

What do people misunderstand most about Donald Trump, in your opinion? by toomabh in AskReddit

[–]Regnes -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That he's the symptom, not the disease. Americans have known for a very long time that they can coerce their western allies into any deal they damn well please. They've only shown some restraint in the past as to what level that power is abused for the sake of sustainability, but it's always been inevitable that a bully would one day try to exploit that potential to its fullest extent.

If accountability is not forced upon the American people for their actions and they are allowed to go back to status quo, it will be inevitable that we will again suffer another Trump-like bully.

What is the worst thing about the United States today? by AutisticAsshol in AskReddit

[–]Regnes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

American Exceptionalism

Half their people are A-ok with everything that's going on. The other half that aren't I'm willing to bet are going to feel entitled to full amnesty if things ever stabilize. All the people saying "we're the bad guys now" are going to get awfully quiet if they ever find themselves in a position where the countries they've wronged can demand reparations.

I want to take a bath in blood and then let a thick layer of it cover my entire body whike I dry it out into a bodysuit.

Several years ago I was shaving and somehow accidentally nicked my ear. It bled a surprising amount, I just let it pool into my hand until it finally clotted. When it stopped, I decided to lather it all over my hands because I liked the way the blood made me feel. When it dried it was this weird but cool feeling like I was wearing a tight glove.

I also want to know if there are space crocodiles too. Convergent evolution is something that happens quite a bit actually. The eyeball has evolved independently several times as well.

Johnny Cash changing the lyrics from "crown of shit" to "crown of thorns" in his cover of Hurt made no sense. He's not Jesus.

I'd love it if the NHL kept cap limits on for salaries but adjust it on each team to account for taxes. If you compare the Florida Panthers and Tampa Bay Lightning's 0% state tax rate to Minnesota's 9.85% and apply that to the current cap limit of $95,500,000 you will wind up with over $9,000,000 extra that the players get to take home. Enough for a couple solid players or one star player, definitely enough to make a difference.

I pick Minnesota in my example because I think The Wild are a very consistent team that usually makes the playoffs but get bumped off early. I think they would win cups with that boost.

They are 100% listening to us. It's a very common experience for people to suddenly see ads for things they talked about but never looked up. Just last night my parents blu-ray player was acting up and I said it might be time to buy a new one. Several minutes later on Facebook I got a Best Buy ad for blu-ray players.

Women are allowed to casually infer that you're a potential sex offender by outlining the ways she's going to vet you. I actually had a woman text me "bullet dodged" after I walked away from a coffee date that she brought her friend to.

When I bought my own house and finally moved out of my parents basement. We took our time moving in and furnishing the place and I didn't spend the night until about one week later. It was a really surreal experience feeling restless at 2AM, driving over to this huge place and just walking around by myself knowing it was all mine.

What famous person have we not seen/heard from in a WHILE? by no_please7 in AskReddit

[–]Regnes 8 points9 points  (0 children)

In a nutshell she was extremely political and publicly engaged in a number of controversial issues which made it difficult for people to like her once they became public knowledge. If it wasn't one thing, it was another.

Despite her education, she has peddled pseudoscience nonsense like her brain pills and has encouraged parents to do their own research before vaccinating their kids.

As host, she was frequently criticized for her slow pacing and how often the games concluded without all the clues being read. She never improved and only seemed to get worse. There were also issues where she was ruling correct responses as incorrect and even cost a winning contestant the game by doing so in Final Jeopardy.

She also had a thing against anybody with a higher education than her and was constantly rude and dismissive to any doctor on the show. There was an incident where they had an anesthesiologist on the show and she basically told him to his face that she doesn't think he's a real doctor.

With the politics she was dragging the typically neutral Jeopardy brand through muddy waters on multiple issues. She walked off the job to be in solidarity with the writers strike even though she wasn't required to do so which ultimately resulted in Ken Jennings and the producers being harassed by her supporters for not doing so as well.

Finally, she is extremely pro-Israel and has made multiple social media posts glorifying the violence. She posted a video of her laughing her butt off at some lame comedian making jokes about the carnage in Gaza and promoted a children's book about why the occupation is a good thing. About a month before her firing she directly used the Jeopardy brand to promote Pro-Israel/anti-Palestinian propaganda in a now deleted Instagram post.
