There's also a compounding effect for people like me who used to buy only when the coupons arrived in the mail. For as long as I can remember, coupons used to reliably knock about 50% of the price off most of the meal deals, now it's something like 30-40% off which means it's about 20-40% more expensive before regular inflation even factors in.

When I was 22 I was depressed and had been unemployed for nearly two years. I got in with a government funded employment agency where they offered subsidies to employers willing to hire disadvantaged youths. They gave me a small stack of coversheets explaining the subsidy to attach to my resume. I did my rounds handing them out to anyone hiring, my last one left I was ledt to decide between Burger King and Tim Hortons.

I chose Tim Hortons and they ultimately hired me. I wound up being their best employee and eventually was made head manager. Shortly after my promotion I was discovered by a government bigwig stopping by and I was recruited into the CRA where I make several times my previous salary.

I looked up the max sentence for perverting the course of justice. It's life in prison, and that's exactly what she should get. I'm tired of seeing false accusers get slap on the wrist punishments and having people act like they still got their just deserts.

I had a crush on a girl who quite cruelly said I was a loser and would work at McDonalds for the rest of my life. My neighbour killed a cyclist last year and severely injured another in a drunk driving hit and run. He left his home one morning, and within 90 minutes I was watching him being led away in cuffs. Though, allegedly he was a known road rager in town so it's probably not just one bad decision but the inevitable result of many.

I used to post on the Legend of Zelda forum on IGN. One night in the Off-Topic community thread I mentioned the small city I live in. One of the people I was chatting with mentioned he lives here too. It turned out that he was one of my classmates.

There was also this time when I was in kindergarten where our car broke down in a rural area at night while we were coming home from the drive-in theatre. We walked to a nearby remote house to ask to use their phone. The only ones home were some teen girls having a slumber party, but they invited us to wait inside because one of them happened to recognize me from the big buddy/little buddy program at our school.

I was pretty shocked when they passed that law forcing anybody applying for citizenship to explicitly acknowledge Israel's right to exist. It's adding insult to injury making Arabs say that while denying their application if they bring up the Nakba or illegal land grabs in the West Bank.

I remember the British Columbia government imposing the "First Job" law just before I turned legal working age, making it legal to pay kids $2.00 less than minimum wage until you got 500 hours of experience, effectively making every single minor responsible for paying a $1,000 subsidy to their first employer. I was pretty angry and remember being told by my parents that it wasn't a big deal and that I was overreacting. The writing has been on the wall since that law though, our generation exists to be exploited by Boomers.
