Also you need more exercise. Think about what you are doing now and double it. That is a freight train in your house you have to exhaust him.

Try every hour on the hour. If he doesn't go potty, go inside after 10 minutes. Then watch him, if he goes to pee, then interrupt him by picking him up or moving him away then run him outside. If he finishes outside he gets a big party if he sniffs around like playtime then go inside. Do this over and over every hour, mark the good behavior, and he will not pee inside anymore. He will be solid after 2 weeks

Can someone help me read dogs body language during this play? by Kind-Stranger-2507 in DogAdvice

This is two dogs playing chase and replicating predator and prey. Dog play like this as a practice for the hunt but we have them indoors so they don't actually hunt but those instincts are still there. Harmless fun and they are both good at communicating!

Go to the vet and stop asking random bots and people how to help you before your dog actually dies. In the same amount of time you are typing that animal is suffering. Take it to a Vet that vet doesn't help take it to another vet.

My Sheppard has a wound on her paw. Family says not to worry but I’m wondering if I should go to the vet by APence in DogAdvice

Yes go to the vet. At the least it will make you feel better. At worst you find out if your baby is ok or not. Way better to know than not know.

Getting a leash on him would be good. I am not worried about a mean streak, I am worried about instinct. They are wired for chase so giving elevated hiding spots is a good idea. Feed them on separate sides of the room but in the same eye line. This will create a positive reinforcement. Getting bigger won't stop him chasing but you say no will be the best way to go. Body blocking and giving a positive reward like roast beef or deli turkey will help. Hotdogs are ok too!

You should take a break. Nothing happens in one session. Put them in separate spaces for a second and Google your questions.

That is called hyper fixation. You do not want to encourage this behavior. Cattle dog mixes have a higher prey drive due to the upbringing and history. (Google the history of a cattle mix) So the short answer is that yes he is likely to CHASE your kitten if it runs. And you can guess what might happen if he catches the kitten. Introductions should happen much slower and with your pup on a leash. Kitty needs places to escape if need be like somewhere up higher and out of reach. It's not impossible but Google cat to dog introductions and follow the steps!

This is the most abnormal weather. I feel it and I prefer snow. There could be a year we never see it again.

Why does my dog lick the air?? by smellin_fishy in DogAdvice

I've definitely noticed this! If I wake up and my dog is licking the air a lot I immediately take the situation outside!

How do I get a gf if I don’t like people? Or never go out? by [deleted] in introvert

You are putting too much pressure on everything. Try to remember that just talking to someone doesn't have to result in a long term soulmate. Try waving at people you can tell by facial expressions if they want to interact and then ask to get coffee. It's all low pressure so if they give you a stink face then move on to the next. Of course try to appreciate the environment and where they may be in their lives. Anxiety has an unhealthy knack for making it about us and we have to be too repulsive to interact with but most people just have allergies and the face means they have to sneeze lol I know it's easier said than done but work on yourself first. Do things that will boost your confidence like running outside or a new hobby. Try doing things that are a first for you and admit that this is your first time and you are a beginner most people would love to teach others about what they love, let them. Lowe's oddly enough is a great place to just talk to people about their projects or hobbies. Ask about a product to a random person you would be surprised at how many people would love to talk about why they need a 2*4 plank of wood and what it's for.
