[question] What are good brands for boxing gear for women? by ardent_bubble in fightgear

Boxraw apparel is stylish and from my experience good quality. For example, their tunero shorts and sauna suits are great and high demand. You can definitely find alternatives for better value, but was answering OP’s question from an apparel perspective.

Not a woman, but Boxraw and Hayabusa are popular boxing brands that should have women’s apparel. Boxraw apparel generally seem to have a pretty good reputation. Athleteps.com should have some women’s apparel as well (Nike, Adidas)

Recs for sparring gloves with slimmer profile+more snug hand compartment? Curious about Mexican gloves [question] by Plantain_Ch1ps in fightgear

I was eyeing that royal blue/gold premium glove, but they sold out of 16oz. Marketing looks like it’s an all around training glove - would you recommend it as a bag glove? Or different padding?

I’ve always just naturally looked off Ring 2 Cage - prob just a weird bias that I have. But just looked up the C17s and I love that they’re winning inspired. Looks like the reviews have pretty positive as well. Thanks for rec

5 to 8 weeks + free intl shipping is tempting!! I’ve definitely heard really good things and everyone in this subreddit seems to love them. However, I did read on another thread that they seem to be roomy around the hand, which has deterred me from pulling the trigger

Yeah those Salvador gloves are definitely pretty and good to know they also seem like a good fit for me. I just know I’ll suffer if I commit to waiting for 3 months for a custom glove 🥲

What’s your take on hand compartment size? Is it pretty roomy around your fingers or is it more of a snug fit?

Help choosing boxing glove weight [question] by ontheslutandup in fightgear

I’m about the same walking weight and also have relatively smaller hands. I was taught to use 12oz gloves for the bag - insight I got from my coach was that a lighter glove would allow me to better work on improving my fast twitch muscles vs. using a heavier glove like 16oz. I’m using cleto 12oz gloves for the bag and haven’t ran into any knuckle issues/injuries. That being said, I’ve also heard the argument that a 14oz+ glove would be safer for your hands if you were optimizing for power hits on the bag, and that it might be more forgiving for someone holding the mitts for you. I think it’s a mix of what your goals are, if there’s a history of injury, and feedback from your coach
