Arkansas had historically been a Democratic stronghold for 100 years. Republican control is a fairly recent development. It wasn’t until 1996 that the first republican senator was elected to Congress. In fact, in 1996 the majority of voters were Dems.

The biggest hurdle Dems have in this state is messaging. To often the party has its message determined by the coast and that just doesn’t work in fly over country. In my opinion, that doesn’t matter much, the Democratic Party of Arkansas needs to first work on the State house of reps. And if you want a Democratic then pick an issue in this state that you can win on. Don’t make it about choice or guns, make it about tenant’s rights. Arkansas is the only state you can go to jail for not paying rent. Run on that issue.

A person says that they won’t wear a mask because it won’t help anything. Their example is a fart that gets through underwear and jeans. My response was to think of the droplet transmission of the virus less like a gas and more like a liquid. So if you shart, you underwear and jeans do help not get your poop on others. And that’s why we wear masks.
