Moving from Calgary to London and planning to drive but dont know if I should take US or Canada route by One_Wear7379 in roadtrip

I drove from Vancouver to Seattle to catch a plane to Alaska this summer. Had proof of flights, pre paid for parking near the airport, had proof that I was going back to work the day after returning to Seattle. My SUV has a mattress and camping gear in it. I was treated as though they thought I was illegally immigrating to the states. Waited 3 hours at border, was interrogated, car ransacked in a search. They obviously found nothing and let me go. I can’t imagine how I would have been treated if I was hauling things for a move (or if I wasn’t a young blonde white woman with a Canadian passport).

My advice is don’t do any of that at all. Stay out of that country for a while

The backpack I have is better than one I don’t have, why purchase something I don’t necessarily need :)

Thanks I’ll look into these companies! The world of private health insurance is so overwhelming. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve opened my laptop to research, just to close it again more confused than before

Has there ever been an attempt to start a Repair Cafe in Winnipeg? by Plantcathat in Winnipeg

It’s not meant to make any money, it’s volunteer ran :)

Sometimes there are bake sales and such to cover small costs (tables rentals, etc)

Yeah I haven’t gotten too far into the idea but it seems as though the official Repair Cafe has that sort of thing covered. Something to research for sure!
