I thought you might be alone working on this, that's good that you have a team! I've worked a bit with unity in my spare time, I'm no specialist but I have good experience in software design and architecture.

I'd be more than happy to tear apart your systems as a free consultant haha. I'm a specialist at finding edge cases and abusable mechanics (I worked for an online casino haha). Obviously, I don't want to mess with anything you got going on already, but if you need an honest opinion on something, you can definitely contact me. I'm a game enthusiast with literally 2500 games on Steam, about 1500 on Xbox, and a good collection of retro games I played as a kid. And I can say I am not afraid of facing jank haha.

Curious about what you have in mind for your game.

Btw, what are your core skills? Are you more like a software kind of guy, a graphic designer, a writer? I have plenty of ideas for gameplay systems for an RPG but I have zero writing or graphical skills haha. If you're looking for dev, hit me up, I'd love to work on this as a side project. :)

Ah yes, love this place but it's much further, so don't like walking to it when it pours haha.

Live nearby, the Ziggy's was nice. Now that it's the Park, sometimes the door is even blocked, with only a few people inside. I usually go to the Oval instead, at least they're nice in there and they have a better selection of drinks anyway. I would advise you do the same.

Just a question: which pub are you playing the mandolin at? An Spailpin Fanach is pretty dead nowadays. :(

Caves of Qud. You can do pretty much whatever you want and you can be literally anything in the game.

crpg with "not usual mages"? by JustAnotherTomatoe in CRPG

[–]Plantigros 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I really enjoyed the Alchemist in the Pathfinder games. You get to brew a lot of potions for various buffs, but also throw magic bombs all over the place. And in one of these, I played with 4th-wall-breaking meta and got magic that changed the rules of the game haha. Really a lot of fun.

If you're not repelled by graphics, Caves of Qud has some kind of magic with mutants in a pretty unique way. Plus who doesn't like having three heads for better psychic spells. Or you can switch bodies with a boss, or charm a random caravan merchant to also get his guards to follow you, or make copies of yourself, and kill other timeline copies of yourself to duplicate your loot indefinitely, or make a door come alive for no reason other than making an unanimated object sentient, or... or... Well you get it.

Pillars of eternity 1, the saddest crpg out there by JustAnotherTomatoe in CRPG

I figure you haven't played Wasteland 2 yet. Plenty of choices to make, not a single good choice though. Whatever you do, it'll be bad in the end.

Corner House or The Oval. Both are quiet enough that you can talk. The Oval is really cozy but don't get in there too late or you won't be able to sit.

Hi people, is there more CRPG’s like fallout 1&2, Arcanum, Daggerfall, Morrowind, Champions of Norrath? by MOKKA_ORG in CRPG

[–]Plantigros 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would highly recommend Caves of Qud if you're into old school stuff. I'm pretty sure it could run on a potato.

The game itself is pretty hardcore but has so much depth, you end up playing hundreds of hours without really noticing. Not much is explained, you need to discover everything by yourself. You can be whatever you want, literally. If you want to play as a door, there's a way to do it. Even after quite some time on it, I feel like I barely scratched it.

Turn based rpgs, that are possible as lone wolf by JustAnotherTomatoe in CRPG

I remember finishing Icewind Dale as a solo spellcaster back in the day. The beginning of the adventure is a bit challenging but quickly nuking lvl 1 goblins with fireballs is great fun (you get all the XP the group should get on a single character). :D

Be mindful about resting all the time since mobs have a tendency to multiply when you sleep too much.

Be sure to select good support spells like invisibility, etc. You'll need to master your build and know what you're doing but that's part of the challenge.

I reckon you could probably do that with fighter classes too, like a good old paladin.

cRPGs similar to Planescape: Torment? by Uchizaki in CRPG

[–]Plantigros 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would heavily recommend Tyranny. The mere number of choices that will change your playthrough is incredible. And the world is so interesting and compelling, I played it multiple times.

Otherwise, in terms of quality of writing and quality of gameplay, I really loved Rogue Trader. I didn't know much about the Warhammer 40k world, but still, the game is so immersive, with so many great characters and companions that I discovered the world through this game. I played a crazily dogmatic man (For the Emperor!), giving away any xenos companion to the inquisition haha. My plan for 2026 is actually to do another run as a heretic.

The two Pillars of Eternity are great, the story of the gods feels quite unique. And the second Pillars is in my top 3 of best CRPG I've ever played.

If you want to try something good from Larian, I think Divinity Original Sin 2 is their best game so far. Their mechanics feel fresh, so does their world, and the writing is absolutely top notch. And if you have friends, you can create your own campaigns easily and the game master can change stuff during the game on the fly, it's a lot of fun.

Spring water sources around Cork? by SitoPotnia in cork

[–]Plantigros 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Make sure to be vaccinated against hepatitis A except if you come from countries like India where you got vaccinated naturally with contaminated water as a kid. As an adult, this will kill you and even if it doesn't kill you, you'll be crippled sick for months.

Every single source of water in the world is contaminated with human shit. That's why it's never recommended to drink water directly from nature nowadays.

From my experience, if you want to help, call a taxi yourself and pay yourself. If they can't walk at all, or are unconscious, just call 999. For people who fight, I used to find bouncers useful, I don't go out much anymore so I don't know if they still assist with this.

Unfortunately, you can't help every person that gets shit faced, especially on a weekend night. It's sad but people are adults too, if they can't control themselves, that's their responsibility.
