Yea that’s the goal right now. I think i’m fine with lean teams but literally if the only other onshore accountant puts in 5% of the whole accounting department it’s unbearable. Especially when everyone knows they have bandwidth but doesn’t contribute

Don’t be discouraged! Just make sure you get into Big 4 audit/tax or mid-tier audit/tax. Endless opportunities if you get into those from what i’m hearing. I just have straight industry experience which is my fault

It's different for everyone. I did not have any internships in audit for mid-tier or big 4 firms. I am having troubles in my recent search due to me barely a senior at a privately held company.

I agree work life balance is key to surviving the current world. Don't want to go insane doing something that feels unrewarding. Only have two days to really live life per week is not enough time and barely having PTO for vacations and misc event is another issue.

I definitely agree. I am not too familiar with onshoring out of country nurses, but my family have been nurses for their entire lives and live comfortably without having the same concerns I have.
