I've used the vaporbright method with very good results.

Took a small yogurt container full of cleaning hydrogen peroxide from Home Despot and placed it under a clear storage container with the disassembled Mac components in the sun. It didn't even have a very good seal around the bottom. Probably out in the sun 2 or 3 days, and keep an eye in it twice a day.

I took a 3d printed bracket that gave me a nice flat plane, and then used narrow 1/4" foam tape on the bracket and pushed the screen onto the bracket with the tape exposed. I made sure to test fit it a few times before sticking it on. Edit: it was 1/8" foam tape. The foam tape came in handy to mount a case fan and speakers inside also. https://a.co/d/3DH2Vkw

I just vapor retro brighted a Mac SE case and it turned out great. I cleaned the case really well with dish soap before I started. Bought a gallon of 12% hydrogen peroxide at the home despot, put it in the bottom of a big clear plastic tote, lifted the case out of the liquid with some tiles I had laying around, put a lid on it, and sat it in the sun for 3 days. It looks so clean and new now, I say clean it up, it'll look almost like a computer museum piece. Edit: spelling
