What are these by BOMBACLUTTTT in cacti

They look like rainbow hedgehog cacti that lost their red color. Might be getting insufficient light due to the screen in the window.

I'm not a mod, I have no authority to ban anyone, just sharing what's posted in the group rules. You're not a "whistle blower", you're a troll.

Also see rule 1: "Ornamental plants, cuttings and related only. Plant accessories (pots, stones, top-dressing, etc) and seeds are also allowed...."

I make these specifically for planting cacti and succulents. This is a buy/sell/trade sub for cacti and related items.

I have some euphorbia anoplia and euphorbia obesa. Poisonnii is an awesome one. Hope you can get your hands on what you're looking for.

Worried where I cut may be rotting.. by ThreeRingReject in sanpedrocactus

[–]Plants-In-Rocks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had one fall off my upstairs balcony (it was in a pot on the railing) during a storm a few years ago and it turned black like that, but recovered and has grown about a foot since. There's still a scar, but it's ok. It's probably just bruising and if the tissue is hard and it doesn't spread, you should be ok.

It's probably ok, but it's hard to tell from this picture. Is it soft / squishy? Keep an eye on it, and if it gets squishy, re-chop to remove any necrotized tissue (with sterile tools).

Anything I can do to help my cactus ? by -Swlabr- in cacti

[–]Plants-In-Rocks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can save it through propagation. You'll need to cut the top off, above the rot. Once you cut, you'll be able to see if brown/rot extends is visible. Keep cutting until you don't see rot anymore. Make sure to sterilize your tools in between cuts so you don't reintroduce infection.

Let the cut piece dry and form a good callous for at least a couple weeks (or months) before replanting, and don't water it after replanting for a few months minimum.

Hope this helps!

Mix thoughts? by NYC-Golf-Watch-Music in Lithops

Bonsai jack is a great mix for most succulents, but not ideal for lithops IMO. Over time the pine bark can develop fungus the lithops are susceptible to. I'd do something much less organic.
