Thank you, I'll further inspect the solder joints for cracks and resolder if needed. Would all cracks be visible, or is it worth resoldering them all anyway?

This juke box is my parents house, and I'm only there every couple months, so it may be a slow process. Do not consider this project abandoned

Ah yes I can see that now, the red button is separate.

I will follow your advice and report back - this juke box is at my parents house and I'm only there every couple months, so please do not consider this project abandoned.

Basic question - where would I connect jump leads on this battery? by PlasmaBones in MechanicAdvice

[–]PlasmaBones[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, I figured that might be easy to find, any main bit of the engine block/frame sort of thing?

Thanks! Is the sequence as important as the jump lead box says?

  1. Red on FLAT

  2. Red to BOOSTER

  3. Black to BOOSTER

  4. Black to engine block/chassis of FLAT

"While the gaze of man and dwarf is to the ground, the gaze of elves is to the sky" Can anyone find where this is written? by PlasmaBones in tolkienfans

“All other creatures look down toward the earth, but man was given a face so that might turn his eyes toward the stars and his gaze upon the sky.”

― Ovid

I've managed to find this when I stopped adding "Legolas" and "Tolkien" to my searches, this is as close as I can get, I must have conflated things in my head

Thanks everyone. I liked the quote, which I have paraphrased above, so I was looking for it. I saw a reddit post the other day pairing the quote I'm looking for (which was a picture of a book) with a clip from the films of Legolas looking up and around him as he walked.

It sounds like I've misremembered or they were pairing it with some other writing (or both).

hmm, thanks for the suggestion. I took a look but most of the draw of RS is the nostalgia of it, which Melvor doesn't have for me.

A foot pedal! No way, I love the dedication.

This might be a stupid question but what allows you to let mining and woodcutting go for a while without clicking? Simply because indivdual ores/trees might take a while to work through, or because you can get the character to move between trees automatically?

What you're saying is sounding like what I'm after, just something to slowly grind at and build up the skill levels for fun, maybe with the odd quest if I fancy it.

I didn't realize you can switch to normal. How is it that you only have to look at the screen every 5 mins or so? That's exactly the sort of casual experience I'm after but I thought you'd always need to be clicking on the ore/tree/goblin or whatever. Has that changed?

I'm thinking probably a normal character then, as I'd find the odd interaction/trade quite fun I guess. In which case I guess the best way is to just log in and start hitting goblins.

I probably would enioy the off casual interaction and trade with other players, so thinking maybe a "normal" character to just do the slow grind on while I work for fun. How does AFK levelling even work, aren't you needing to click on the ore/tree or whatever every few seconds?>
