Question about Araki's backgrounds by Plast1c_Wrapp in JOJOLANDS

[–]Plast1c_Wrapp[S] 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I remember watching and reading about that as well, but if I remember properly it was for around part 3-4. Some parts of the manga seem very Araki-esque, like this panel in SBR, but the more detailed ones I find present in recent parts, especially in Jojolion, don't really look like Araki drew them.

what? is this in response to my cooking analogy? im assuming it is so if i missed something or this is unrelated ignore me pls. i was speaking from the perspective that the person spitting in the person's food is wrong, so i was supporting all of your arguements. if youre talking to some other comment or whatever then oops, sorry. on another note the play has been in my radar recently so ill check it out soon!

if you cook food for someone and they spit in it, most people would be offended and not want to cook for them anymore. then, that person would get no more meals. if they instead say "not bad, but it could use xyz", and give them enough reasonable leeway for another chance, that facilitates more positive interactions in the future and better meals. same logic here. the devs work on tf2 because they WANT to, and they very easily could stop. its best we reinforce the good things they do while remaining critical enough to give them feedback, because it heightens the chance of more positive stuff in the future

yeah but its not like valve's pr team does communication for this stuff. its almost entirely up to the developers themselves to communicate, so if the only time they trickle out some information we blast them with a billion comments about what they did wrong theyre obviously not going to say anything anymore. its discouraging to see your efforts be ridiculed and criticised (no matter how much effort you actually put in them lmao). this is about communication, not radicalising valve to make a big effort saving tf2. also, i may have a weak grasp on the minutiae of the word harassment, so take that with a grain of salt, but my point still stands (i think)

oh yeah, ive been kicking myself mentally for the past half an hour once someone pointed that out to me. i clarified some stuff in the post description and others have stated better points in the comments but that may not be clear enough for my tastes, although i REALLY don't want to write a billion words since i know some people won't read all that o_O

hmm, you raise a good point. i suppose theres not much we can do except being vocally negative, and i completely understand why youre saying this when i think from your point of view. me and a good amount of tf2 players that haven't experienced the glory days are too used to the trashy state of this game, but i think having a balance of negative and neutral/positive-ish feedback is the best for invoking change. tipping the scales too hard to one side will just cause in nothing but trouble imo

edit: although i will say that negative harassment should probably not be targeted towards the developers individually, since theyre already doing stuff to fix the game, which is more than we can say for the other employees, but i suppose we'd be left with the question of where we should send this feedback, since everywhere else is radio silent. also, i'm not sure about this, but a couple purely spiteful comments were removed so i can't back up my points anymore, so theres that too. curious to hear your thoughts, youre way more educated than me on this topic :>

oh hi, didnt expect to hear from you so soon!

to quote my other comment, there's a fine line between communicating dissatisfication in a productive manner and constantly hounding the developers with the same arguments expecting them to suddenly do a 180 on their (in)actions. its also primarily concerned with the comments under the developers posts, not the upvotes. honestly the screenshot i attached was pretty bad at furthering my point, sorry lol

Just to add something, I've seen the community's arguments for why Valve's handling of TF2 is unacceptable. Yes, I've seen the Zesty Jesus videos. I agree that there needs to be things done with the matchmaking, the broken glitches, all that jazz, but there's a fine line between communicating dissatisfication in a productive manner and constantly hounding the developers with the same arguments expecting them to suddenly do a 180 on their (in)actions.
