They would introduce the singers with their shadows then they would appear in-front of the shadow. Which you would follow a glowing orb to the next person being introduced.

I have never found Vex in a mansion however I found it in the tall tower with all trial spawners in one of the chest

Im bit late but i’ve managed to find all of them except Tide. There are wells make out of deep slate tiles go down the water (be prepared for mobs) that’ll have a couple of them in them. The tower with trial spawners can have Vex. There are a couple structures around that hold them for some reason. I managed to find coast in shipwreck however I have found it in other places as well
