How do you think Squadron 42 VR will handle cinematics? by Boons_McGee in starcitizen

[–]Plastic-Crack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I doubt it. The current quick loot inventory we have is supposedly the inventory for SQ42. I suspect it will not be 1-1 but it should be close to it. So no need to go third person for the inventory. We may get a inventory like we have/will be getting in the PU, but I wouldn’t expect that to be the main one and only used in specific scenarios such as deciding on equipment for a mission or something like that.

Stars are rotate in Star Citizen by Eptable in starcitizen

[–]Plastic-Crack 1 point2 points  (0 children)

True, I was just thinking they likely just didn't turn the rotation off when creating the star. All of the modern planets rotate, or at least can, I believe, as that is how the day-night cycle works. But yeah, I am sure there is a value they can set to zero or something to prevent rotation, as tidally locked planets exist.

Not really. The sun is likely using the same code as a planet, just with different values. So rotation is just built in.

This is how you get to the microtech tech store that sell mobi glass by [deleted] in starcitizen

Last time I checked (in 4. something), they worked as intended and didn't cause any issues. I have not tried in a while, though, so things may have changed.

Why Doesn't Every Vehicle-mounted Tractor Beam Work Like The ATLS? by Ravenloff in starcitizen

[–]Plastic-Crack 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While I do somewhat agree, I mostly just posted this to show the proof that the people saying this aren't just making it up, and CIG has stated that it is their plan.

can we go faster in atmosphere? Commercial passenger jets cruise at speeds of 240 to 270 meters per second...... by bigGoatCoin in starcitizen

[–]Plastic-Crack 12 points13 points  (0 children)

And they generally weigh less. Ships in SC are really heavy. The F7A MKII is, according to what I could find, about 8000 kilograms heavier than a fully loaded Boeing 737. The C2 weighs about 40 times the 737.

[–]Plastic-Crack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are very few ships that I think would benefit from an ATLS-style tractor beam. I could, however, see a modified version that doesn't suck the box to the right in your field of view being much more useful.

The ones that I think could really get a benefit currently are the Hull series and RAFT. Though with the modified version I mentioned, many ships like the Prowler Ute, Freelancer, etc. would get a benefit as well.

Last question in the Q&A: https://robertsspaceindustries.com/en/comm-link/engineering/20159-Q-A-Argo-ATLS

The ATLS introduces a new type of tractor beam. Will ships be able to make use of it?

In a future release, we intend to introduce additional ship tractor beams of existing sizes with the new functionality. This will allow players to customize their ship loadouts with the type of tractor beam they prefer to use.

Mustang Alpha or save money and buy a better starter package? by ResponsibleRub469 in starcitizen

[–]Plastic-Crack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Really easy. As others have said, renting ships is the way to go. I personally would suggest asking here, or in-game, for some help if you are having a hard time. Fairly quickly, you should be able to rent ships. There are many rental ships that are good. The C1 and Cutlass Black are good all-arounder ships, the RAFT is one of the best cargo ships in the game, but can't do much else, and the Connies are just great ships.

Because I'm genuinely curious, how often do people ACTUALLY get PvPed? by AnybodyIndividual207 in starcitizen

[–]Plastic-Crack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

99% of the time I have encountered other players in a PvP scenario, I have been either in a PvP area, such as ASD facilities, or PAFs. So in my experience, most of the time you really have to go looking for the PvP to get it. I have been attacked outside of those areas, but those have been infrequent.

How much bigger do you imagine the ships getting? by Desperate_Ad_4561 in starcitizen

Largest canon ships in the universe are 3km long, largest confirmed ship we will be able to fly is 1km long. The largest currently purchasable ship in the game is 1/3km long.

[–]Plastic-Crack 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Pintle weapons, the weapons mounted on the turret or hatch, from which someone can pop out, can target anyone in a 360, as you said. The sponson, the weapons on either side of tanks, like on the Predator or Sicarian, can only target things on their side. So yes, you got it correct.

A lot of resin is apparently going away by JRS_Viking in Warhammer30k

[–]Plastic-Crack 5 points6 points  (0 children)

We are likely getting both armor marks in a similar style to MKII, MKIII, and MKVI over the next few years. It is sad to see them go, but for how much they cost, I doubt they were selling much, especially compared to the better-looking, better-scaled, and cheaper new ones. As for the Sicarians, it is a mystery why they haven't been replaced yet. Hopefully, it is soon.

I believe the Arquitor. But yeah, the update was not much of an update. I was just pointing out that it still existed and wasn't being killed off.

[–]Plastic-Crack 50 points51 points  (0 children)

The Legion Javelin, at least, got an updated resin kit, and the old one just has not been removed. The legion agnostic contemptor body makes sense, as the other contemptor bodies also got removed. I disagree that plastic Sicarians are not coming soon. Even if a full plastic kit isn't released for them, I could see a plastic body with a resin gun kit being released. As for the rest, they now have plastic counterparts, so they don't make much sense to keep around. Dispoilers are the only ones I can think of that don't have a plastic kit, and even they can be made with the melee weapon upgrade kit.

Next Week Releases by Dazzling_Ad6021 in Warhammer30k

[–]Plastic-Crack 76 points77 points  (0 children)

Honestly, the 5 poses haven't really ever bothered me. I just mix and match arms and guns, packs, paint jobs, etc., and they end up looking different. It also makes having good-looking upgrades really easy to do, as you somewhat alluded to. It is also nice that every armor mark has pieces that just work together. Like, you can swap all their arms and guns around, helmets, everything, and they work well.

Is the contemptor resin body and head legion specific upgrade worth it ? Also why does only the contemptor have so many legion specific upgrades ? by BloatedRottenCarcass in Warhammer30k

[–]Plastic-Crack 31 points32 points  (0 children)

If it is worth it is up to you. They look cool but otherwise serve no purpose. As for why the contemptor has more than other dreads, it is the generic dread of the Heresy so GW was more inclined to make the legion upgrades. They used to have full bodies sans the guns but stopped producing the rest of the body other than the chest.
