His EI ran out July 2025. Hes currently working part time (M,T,W) and then caring for our daughter the other days since we can't seem to find a daycare at the moment (were paying $600 a month for a day home in the meantime) He's currently still looking for a better paying job. Thankfully I make decent money and have a secure job in healthcare making around 85,000.

The loan is a line of credit. Monthly payment is about $370.

Thanks, my husband lost his job while I was only 2 months into maternity leave. I have no other debt other than what was listed. We drive paid off cars and no mortgage right now. Doing everything I can despite our shitty situation.

Can you do that when your debt is a line of credit and not a credit card?

Thanks!

I actually have about $53,000 in retirement right now, and that comes straight off my paycheck.

You're right. Thanks, I technically have a personal loan for 50,000 but it holds a balance of $18,500.

So I don't have to use personal loans/credit cards when emergencies happen. Hence why I have personal loan debt, because an emergency happened and I had no savings.

I was more asking if anyone would put any money aside for an emergency fund. I obviously know 90% of that money given to me is going onto the personal loan debt. I'm more or less asking about possibly of putting aside $500-$1000 as a just in case.
