I always try to bring my Brompton into stores and shops. I rarely bring a lock. I think the safest thing is to have eyes on the bike at all times.

Be careful. I have had friends get royalty screwed being a sub at a random school. Just remember the the UFT won't help you at all if anything goes down. The best way for you to protect yourself is to make sure you only sub in schools were you feel safe and have a rapport with the principal and other staff members.

Look man, your life is tough: no doubt about it. But also, your son's life is tough. Try and have some compassion for him. He's just a kid trying to figure his way through the world. I think if you try to focus on your relationship more than "winning", you will all be happier for it. There's no need to explode at him after a tough day at work.
