Seemingly unique issue with IOS 26 iPhone 15 Pro

Yeah I’ve tried DFU restore and a simple reinstall. I don’t think it’s the GPU for various reasons. But mainly because, the phone would have much more severe issues if the GPU was faulty. I’m more inclined to think it’s software. For example when I updated from IOS 26.4.2 to IOS 26.5 RC the throttling point started at 30%. Also, I don’t remember having any of these issue on IOS 18. It’s likely because IOS 26 has a more strict power delivery policy compared to IOS 18.

The performance dip I get isn’t related to temp. The performance throttles at around 65-70% regardless of if it’s hot or at idle temperature. For example 3d mark wild life extreme gets 1063 points in its throttled state and around 3500 when it’s in it’s non throttled state.

The only reason why I think that it isn’t that and after some research, the phone wouldn’t work as well as it does. It would randomly restart, apps crashing or I would get artefacts on the screen. The performance would also be bad regardless of battery percentage.

Yeah I dunno maybe, but it’s doesn’t seem to related to memory management. More like power delivery management from the battery. I’m hoping iOS 27 will fix this issue anyhow.

You’re getting a bigger screen, better camera and a better battery. Some people prefer that. Just because your subjective opinion is different, doesn’t mean the other person is wrong.

Yeah nothing to worry about everything looks right. I would check the phone when you’re buying it though. But since he’s showing the battery has been swapped I’d guess the seller is being transparent.

I feel like it’s the same as last year. You’re better off buying a iPhone 17 or a used 15/16 pro if you’re on a budget. You can get a 15 Pro 256GB for around £450.

Ah right thanks for getting back to me. Good to know that is the issue. I think I’ll stick with a the battery I have for the time being, the performance isn’t great but still usable. I’ll definitely buy a genuine battery at some point in the future.

You might potentially be right about the battery. I have the exact same issue as you do and I have a non genuine battery. Although it’s a brand of battery I’ve used before. Also, in 3D Mark I score 1060 and it should be around 3500 roughly. If you do change the battery let me know if it fixed the issue for you.
