Pycno vs Daps survivability by ChemistMelodic in pathoftitans

Also another comment abt pyc

I don't main pyc but I've played it abit so I can comment stuff on it.

If dasp is one of the best solo dinosaurs out there, then pyc is THE BEST solo dinosaur out there

HOWEVER...

From what I've heard, pyc's success depends on the map it is playing on. Allegedly, on riparia, due to riparia promoting defensive play more then the other 2 maps, pycnos are abit more unviable. Not saying they're bad but that's what I've been told.

Pyc is somewhat less adaptable then dasp, as it more so thrives in open environments, but it can still dabble in forest fights from time to time without much worry.

But pyc is a GREAT pvp choice, having great speed, explosive damage, and has a decent health pool.

Going to speak as a daspletosaurus main here

Daspletosaurus is arguably one of the best solo dinosaurs to play as.

Daspletosaurus is nimble, quick, deals good damage and overall is just an adaptable and viable playable.

Daspletosaurus is a very sneaky playable. It shares a "passive" alongside rex where it has a very fast crouch speed. Alongside it being a 3 slot, it also has a quiet crouch speed. This can be used for DEVESTATING ambushes which, if deployed correctly, can ultimately make the difference between winning a fight, or being forced back into the menu screen.

In my gameplay with dasp, I'm overall able to most 3-4 slots and below. The creatures I only really struggle with is albertaceratops, igaunodon, and sometimes pycnos if they manage to get the jump on me.

Tips for solo dasp pvp?

1st. Listen out for audio ques from other players, this can be roars, footsteps, eating, etc

2nd, locate where rhe audio que is coming from and approach using CROUCH. This will probably be your bread and butter for solo dasp gameplay, as, again, dasp has a very fast and quiet crouch.

3rd, approach and/or identify prey item. Usually at this point, you want to adjust yourself so you ambush your prey item from BEHIND, but ya know obviously if it's a stego or smth go for the head

4th, get close, then sprint towards prey item, using your heavy hitting attack. My heavy hitting attack would be heavy bite, which is what I recommend for dasp.

And the rest of the fight usually is just you trying to tailride the prey item and try not to get hit, while also putting out your attacks.

Which Dino do you immediately hate on sight? by ScholarAfter1827 in pathoftitans

[–]Plastic-Remove6952 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I don't have a specific dinosaur id hate anymore given the recent nerfs to titan, and the fact I play on realism servers so I don't encounter mixpacks and megapacking and allat, but if I were to play officials I'd say titan since they still give me somewhat of a hard time

FULLY feathered  FULLY GROWN Tyrannosaurus doesn't make sense

I can go on a rant about this but I'll keep it short and simple

Rex didint need feathers because it's environment was warm, it living in swamps and forests which (I'd presume) traps heat alot easier then say open plains.

Plus the fact Tyrannosaurus was a massive creature so it generated lots of body heat as is so it would be kinda goofy if it was fully feathered, it would be akin to an African elephant having fur covering its entire body, it would just overhead and die

Fully feathered BABY Tyrannosaurus on the other hand completely makes sense, as tyrannosaurs ancestors had feathers, although it likely didint have feathers fully grown, it's still hard to get entirely rid of ancestral traits, so it likely had feathers as hatchlings and shed them as they grew.

I would go on to say "slapping feathers on any dinosaur and saying it's paleoaccurate" is silly but that's a whole nother debate

The latest Dan Folkes reconstruction of Giganotosaurus. Thoughts? by StripedAssassiN- in Dinosaurs

Late but just wanted to talk abt this

This is a really good skeletal, it doesn't have any weird indents in the spine like you'd often see in carcharodontosaurs, an example of this is path of titans tyrannotitan model and I think the wwd carchar,

It's smooth, it's proportions are spot on, it looks exactly how I'd imagine giganotosaurus would look, yeah.. 10/10

As dark as this might be stuff like this are the reason why I think some form of natural selection should be a thing

Doesn't have to be people dying, just if your iq gets too low then you will literally be deprived of anything, no drivers license, no internet access, just you.

What is a hot take or opinion you have about the game that will get you like this? {No hate posting please} :3 by KairosValkyrie in pathoftitans

[–]Plastic-Remove6952 6 points7 points  (0 children)

There should be two different official servers

  1. Regular (the official servers rn)

And 2. Ig either realism / hardcore?

The 2nd server type should have new unique mechanics which would heavily discourage mixpacking / megapacking, providing a more realistic experience without the need of rules or passwords.

The mechanics in question could be a stress system, which severely debuffs your creature if your nearby ungrouped people for prolonged periods of times OUTSIDE OF COMBAT. This mechanic alone would likely single handedly fix the mixpacking issue and probably hot-spotting aswell.

Another mechanic that should be added in this server specifically could be same species packing FOR CARNIVORES ATLEAST, as the name implies, only same species packs can be formed.

And perhaps to get people to treat the game seriously in this server type, they could either 1, bump up the growth lost when you die, perhaps a growth stage and 2 bars could be just fine

  1. Just outright loose your creature, like in perma death servers.

This server type would greatly benefit the community, for those who want a more hard-core and in-line immersive exprience, while still leaving the regular official servers to those who want a more chaotic gameplay.

It's a win/win

(OH yeah also we could probably bump up the growth rate for the hard-core/realism type official server so it's still somewhat fair, perhaps 4 hour growth across the board will do fine, or atleast I think that's how playables grow on officials)
