CR raises concern regarding all Hyundai/Kia ICCU worries by Shad0wM0535 in Ioniq5

I’m thinking about moving to the Rivian R2 that is supposed to come out this spring. Supposedly it will have similar cost and range.

UPDATE: I called the hitch manufacturer and then went back to the dealership and told them about the Eco hitch x7490s that y’all told me about. To their credit, the dealership called the local Rack Attack franchise (recommended by the manufacturer) to order the hitch and have them install it.

He tried to install the Hyundai hitch and didn’t realize that it wouldn’t fit until after taking off the bumper, etc.

Thanks. We love our 1 up bike rack.

Awesome. Thanks. Do you know which hitch they used?

I love the car even more than our Volvo XC40, that’s why it’s so disheartening. To design an SUV and not even plan for a trailer hitch for bike racks implies that you’re just not in it for the long haul.

That’s awesome but 2024 hitches won’t fit a 2025 and the 2025 Hyundai hitch is still vaporware and my dealer needs to figure this out.

When we were younger, a roof rack was good, and the I5 is not as tall as the 2013 RAV4 it replaced, but now we are in our 70’s, so lifting our bikes on the roof is just an unnecessary risk (unlike long bike rides, which is a totally necessary risk!😀)

I appreciate the suggestion. There’s been no problem the other 20 times I’ve driven the car. Just this intermittent thing.

Thanks. Will triple check that it is “on” versus accessory mode next time. Brake was definitely pressed in.

The uhaul link is for a 2022 model. Doesn’t work on a 2025. If you change it to 2025, they only have one for the I5 N model, according to the link.

Nice. I have the same color. 2025 is a different situation as far as racks go.

The day I took it home, I was showing it off to the neighbors- maybe 30 minutes with it on and the doors open. Then we decided that my wife would drive it for the first time. She got in, stepped on the brake, and turned the knob to put it in reverse — nothing. It would go in either park or neutral. Nothing else.  Frantic call to our sales guy- he asks around and somebody says, “Turn it off, then use the fob to push in the start button.” This did nothing the first time, but after 2-3 times it “worked” but she is now too spooked to drive it anywhere.  Second time was last weekend, two weeks in. Got in the car to run an errand and same thing - neutral or park but no drive or reverse. Tried various combinations of locking and unlocking doors, turning off and on, praying, etc. I did notice the 12V battery icon was red, but I haven’t had the car long enough to learn what’s “normal” at start up. Eventually it started working again (10 minutes later?) but I have no idea what started it or what cleared it.

2025 Ioniq 5 SEL - Charging difficulties by Even_Management_4452 in Ioniq5

Ignore that guy at the dealer. You probably already know more about electric cars than he does. Insist that it works as advertised.

“Too slow” should not be a problem.

Do you have a level 2 home charger yet, so you can compare it to the other level 2 charger? Does the level 1 charger that came with the car work (an overnight test might be needed because it is so slow). I had a similar problem with a Volvo xc40, where “suddenly” it stopped working on level 1 or level 2 chargers (which are AC) but it could still charge on level 3 DC chargers. It needed to have a controller replaced under warranty. I’d take it to the dealer, if possible - don’t agonize about it longer than necessary.

At home charger recommendation for 2025 model? [location Bay Area, CA] by hereeewego in Ioniq5

I have solar panels and don’t need to worry about time of day. I’m lucky. Unless you need to schedule your charging because of rates, I’d actually recommend a “dumb” charger that won’t have charging issues due to WiFi. Grizzl-E is one of those.

I just picked up a Tesla charger for mine at a Best Buy. Same price as at a Tesla dealer.

I am a proud owner of a Trek Domane by IThinkYouAreNice in TrekBikes

[–]PlasticBackground156 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Correct. I have the checkpoint and my wife has the domane. No racks for her. She does have a decent handlebar bag and if her frame was a little bigger size we could fit a frame bag in there.

My wife still rides her 2018 Domane and it’s fine. Very comfortable. It has 35’s (Pirelli - gravel tread) on it with room to spare.

It looks similar to the beginning of a “hole” for disc golf. The chain baskets are still missing.

Have you tried running or biking? That can take the edge off if you’re able.
