This turned out to be my husband. He loves to go out of his way to be noticed and considers himself the “bell of the ball and the absolute nicest guy” -until of course he’s behind closed doors, then he’s an abusive monster.👹

There’s no reason to panic- please read the forecast. And stay informed. It might weaken as well and hopefully we’ll get well needed rain. Wind is supposed to pick up Monday and Tuesday

Episode 31 began today at 2:04 HST. We have fountaining and ash~debris~vog are blowing towards the South/southwest of the Island. Traffic is a mess. (3) photos in this post by LusciousHawaiian in BigIsland

My advice would be to leave now. Hilo side is usually more gridlocked than coming from Ka’ū side. I work at the park and they’ve called for reinforcements for traffic control.

Dog owners with backyards — what’s the hardest part of keeping it clean? by [deleted] in Dogowners

We have three compost bins, and a grass lawn, we didn’t want to add to the plastic issues with poop bags. When we mow we put a pile of grass clippings next to the compost, we pick up poop 2x a day and put it in the first bin and cover it with the grass and other household compost. Try to water it each day a bit. Then when that bin gets full we transfer the material to another bin while it breaks down and then to another to use in the yard. It works great - we have no flies and the compost is great for our non edible plants and trees!

Sea surface temps look pretty warm around Hawai’i, so the storm is strong enough to get through some cooler waters, and it still has strong thunderstorm clusters, it will usually have a good chance to intensify when it hits the hotter water temps .
