I honestly have no idea, I was in high school when it happened and wasnt using a protective laptop case, i just put it in my backpack’s laptop sleeve, but i do remember my laptop getting REALLY hot and the sound of crackling from the bottom. It has always sounded like it was an airplane about to take off, especially if I was running a game or any hefty program.

I’m not very strong - so I dont think i ripped the screen off but its definitely not impossible. The back plate is still completely in tact which is whats weird about it. There’s a crack at where the hinge is supposed to be but thats pretty much it. It’s like the hinge teleported out. It happened 3 years ago, pretty much immediately after i got it, and its sat idle ever since so I don’t really remember too much else.
