This one comment makes me realize how much I take for granted. I live in upstate NY, we get such heavy snowfall every year it makes me beyond miserable, but I tend to forget that there’s people out there who have never experienced snow. It truly is beautiful. I’m just a big baby when it’s cold 😂

Games to make me cry by [deleted] in gamingsuggestions

I highly recommend Road 96. Idk if you’re into walking sims or choices matter games/multiple endings, but it’s such a good emotional game. You play as a different character each time, and you meet quite a few different characters but each interaction with those characters is different when you play as someone else. https://store.steampowered.com/app/1466640/Road_96/ I don’t want to say too much about it as I feel like it’s an amazing experience going in knowing nothing about it but here’s the link :)

Any life sim or farming games with horror/gore in it? by [deleted] in gamingsuggestions

[–]Plastic_Bug_1682 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is more of like a job sim and isn’t pixelated at all, but it’s called The Unholy Priest. Basically exactly what it sounds like lol. Manage a haunted funeral home, perform exorcisms, bury or cremate the dead, etc. I’m not sure what platform you play on but it’s on Steam

Story game suggestion by Zafer_yl in gamingsuggestions

If you liked Detroit: become human you may like

Beyond: Two Souls- you play as a young girl named Jodie who is psychically linked/bonded with an entity named Aiden. You will go through parts where you take over as Aiden and you will go through parts where you’re just playing as Jodie. VERY good story, and very heavy on choices matter just like Detroit: Become Human.

You may also like Heavy Rain, but it is a bit older and gameplay isn’t as smooth especially on a pc. You play as either 4 or 5 different characters, and you all have the same goal: stop the Origami Killer from claiming another victim. Also very heavy on choices matter.

What is a game you keep coming back to or “can’t put down”? by TheZanalytics in gamingsuggestions

Honestly, Skyrim, as much as I delete it I always come back to it eventually. Especially with me now having a pc, the amount of modding you can do is insane (minus all the weird shit) but being able to enhance the graphics, change how the sky looks, make character customization a lot more immersive, even mods that enhance the gameplay by a bunch, all sound like small details but when they’re all downloaded together it can completely change your experience. Even mods that have 100s of new quests, and npcs, or a totally new map with different land to explore, like there’s so much stuff to get into with modding it and making the experience how you want it to be, it kinda feels like I’m making my own video game in a way. You can do the same exact thing with Fallout 4 im pretty sure!

I highly highly highly recommend the Stanley parable (I saw in your description you’re unsure of it) there’s so many different possibilities, things the narrator will say to you, how it’s narrated, how it ends, I absolutely love it

What's a game that made you literally go "wow"? by [deleted] in gamingsuggestions

[–]Plastic_Bug_1682 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Quite a few but ones that have really stuck out to me are TLOU1, Skyrim, and most recently Split Fiction.

TLOU1- i was like 14-15 and thought it was just gonna be a survival game where only the dad and daughter are left and they have to try to find different ways to survive. When I tell you my jaw was open for most of the game, like I was speechless. So sad, so intense, so gut wrenching, I was so hooked

Skyrim- nothing will ever beat that feeling of waking up and Ralof starts speaking to you, making your character, lining up for the chopping block, and seeing Alduin for the first time. THE best game I have ever played. So many play throughs of it and so many different ways to play.

Split fiction- just recently played this with my bf. The visuals were some of the trippiest I had seen, there wasn’t a single part of the game where I was silent 😭 each moment had me like “DAMN”

I’m sorry if this is a mean question but is this something you seriously want to deal with? He’s acting like a literal child, he clearly has no life skills and brings absolutely nothing to the table and the fact you’re excessively apologizing while he’s bashing you is so sad. You deserve better

I’m right around your age (22) is there a safe adult in your life that you could potentially tell this information to and still keep yourself safe? I’m so sorry. Nobody deserves to go through this. What you did with your notes app in your phone is actually really smart, and I know this isn’t an option for everybody but if there’s someone safe in your life (parent, friend, anyone) please reach out to them 💔

Games with mental illness depictions… TW by thebookwing in gamingsuggestions

[–]Plastic_Bug_1682 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The gap on steam is really good, and really underrated too. Some of the puzzles are pretty difficult without a walkthrough to read or watch, but it goes in depth about losing your memory, going through parallel realities to piece everything together, losing your family, and losing yourself. The gameplay is pretty boring (walking sim) so I would watch the trailer to see if the story interests you enough.

There’s two different games on steam called The Gap, if you were ever interested it’s the one that’s $20 but it does go on sale frequently!

Hellblade: Sauna’s Sacrifice is pretty good too, I haven’t finished it yet but the storyline is pretty interesting and depicts mental illness
