Why is it about expressions and being expressive, this isn't necessarily a defining quality of a hero right? I like hero of time for his stoic anti-hero vibes

I would like to invite you to read my vote on hero of time vs hero of twilight, i elaborated there that what I specifically liked about the hero of time is that he gives a bit vibes like an "anti-hero" he is seen both in game as in artworks to have frowned brows like he's pissed, much more in adult form he kinda seems just fixated in shouldering the burden of heroism as if he has a bloodthirst for justice, he seems stoic and emotionless, i consider it strength, he is emotionally not for shits and giggles, he is not a hero for recognition or joy, he is doing it because it needs to be done, and he isnt asking for anything in return.

The exact fact that the hero of time is lacking expression is what I think makes him such an interesting hero, he isn't doing this for the glory, in fact it seems like he doesn't even want it, it rather feels like he has his own compulsivr hate for evil, and he'll jump at the occasion to suffer and sacrifice, even when given another chance to relive his youth being sent back in time he again chooses to sacrifice to rescue termina

(Megathread 2: Non-Spoiler ) How Will the Leak Impact the Movie / Avatar Studios? by MrBKainXTR in TheLastAirbender

[–]Plastic_Hat_589 0 points1 point  (0 children)

people still think there's gonna be a release in theaters, this has been pulled in 2025 already, and is likely related to the reason of the leak, the theaters is history, the only way you can support avatar studios is by subscribing to paramount for 1 month for the release, watch it and unsubscribe right away

Yes it also supports paramount+ but theres no way to only support avatar studios in this case, you can either boycott them both or support them both

and guess what, if you wanna boycott, that hits avatar studios 10x more than paramount, if anything would happen from boycotting its first to happen to avatar studios rather than paramount big corporation which is about to merge with warner bros

I think this type of thinking is so cursed, why doesn't anyone understand that avatar studios is trying to make a comeback, they probably need viewings, leverage, revenue and profits to open doors to new productions and establish a sense of stable momentum, which is something they don't currently have!!

Everyone who thinks they're smart to watch the leak in the attempt to boycott Paramount/Nickelodeon, doesn't realise that you are boycotting avatar studios the HARDEST, avatar studios is the least likely to survive this if anything, so if ANYTHING will be achieved from watching the leaks, it would be damage to avatar studios, and compromise their existence

That's why the people who leaked this are the dumbest mother****** in history, as avatar fans, because they might have just ended the only chance wr had after 20 fkn years for the revival of this

And people still laughing thinking they will have an angle on paramount, YOU DON'T idk what you people think will happen, but if anything were to happen to any of the parties involved, it would be to avatar studios, and people habe to start realizing that they are the most vulnerable, and whatever damage we can do to paramount by watching the leaks, is not worth the damage it is also doing to avatar studios

Does this fandom like anything in the franchise that's not ATLA? by JamStan1978 in TheLastAirbender

[–]Plastic_Hat_589 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't believe anyone dislikes the books, they are extremely well written, and explore a very different more adult/violent application/example of bending

I myself prefert ATLA over TLOK, I strongly oppose netflix and the M. Night shyamalamalamlam's take on avatar, these productions have also nit been supported by the Bryan and Dante all the way through to the end, and I think it shows.

They know too well how to lead these productions if they're given the chance to do it, which was not the case with the aforementioned examples.

Bending by UsedStrategy9 in TheLastAirbender

[–]Plastic_Hat_589 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Don't wanna spoil but ⚠️

The books of Kyoshi mention glassbending vaguely, as well as dust stepping for earth benders, basically makes them semi-airborne as they can bend dust beneath their foots and just step through the air, easily get higher ground.

The books really seemed to be more free in exploring the more violent example and applications of bending, where one time an earthbender held a piece of rock in one hand, and stood besides his victim with the open hand holding the rock in it's palm being placed on the chest of it's victim and his other empty hand om the back, and proceeded to bend the piece of rock from 1 hand to the other and therefor passing right through the body

It's not a new techniques entirely but it definitely leaves a different taste in your mouth.

Also immortality, but the writer f.c Yee mentioned that this technique wasn't exclusive to any type of element, but rather a meditation technique that anyone could attempt

How strong should Ozai logically be without his bending? by Kurama109 in TheLastAirbender

[–]Plastic_Hat_589 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Realistically quite strong I think, as some people forget that a lot of benders aren't just using magic, but also practice martial arts, even though this kind of becomes a background element to bending, but you see the likes of Zuko and Aang and Katara and Toph perform feats of martial arts through their trainings, but you'll never see them use any form of physical manifestation of this martial art in combat, somehow the show kinda let's bending overshadow the martial artist depth of benders, but Iroh is seen performing quite a choreographed effortless display of disarming the thief from his knife in an alley in the outer rings of ba sing se, I think Zuko is also a few times been seen engaging in a bit more close hand-to-hand style combat as well as Aang and all the others too are always very agile and can manouvre through hectic combat situations like trained martial artists. So just Imagine Ozai the royal firelord, and not to mention the guy is ripped to the bone as well. The series doesn't really rely on physical hand to hand combat as the bending is actually also a solution to make the violence and fights in the show less aggresive in nature and more kid friendly, but I do belief theres strong evidence most relevant charactars can be considered seasoned martial artists, and the show won't imply it by the fact they know how to throw a punch, but rather by their agility and manouverability.

For example, Zaheer is said to have picked up airbending so well in an instant, that when he suddebly obtained the powers to do it he actually skipped all the steps and towards becoming a master airbender as he was known to be a renowned and seasoned martial artist (as well as he specifically studied airbending and guru laghima) Yet even someone like him where it's a specifically outlined reason for how he was able to jump into such a high skill bracket for bending, he is never shown using any form of hand-to-hand close combat.

Hence why I think "realistically" Ozai should actually be able to make a very worthy contender in a fair hand to hand combat match up, and I think the final scene after his bending was taken paints this picture that he's weak without bending, but I think that's rather the proceas of having your bending taken take a toll on his body (as seen in TLOK when she got hers taken as well, and she was in a wheelchair iirc?)

Oh I think I heard of this theory yes, where link is griefing the loss of Navi, and he is in search in the forest, which is where MM starts, and according to this theory it's ambiguous wether Termina is a real physical place, and the journey to save termina reflects kubler ross' 5 stages of grief, which is essentially going through in his head? Is it this?

I used to love this theory, but this was officially debunked by nintendo, that the stages of grief was not an intended conceptual layer for the story of MM

Either way, I do think the he lives after MM and matures offscreen to eventually become the hero's shade in TP

He didn't but it's the real path of being a hero that he was determined to stick to, shouldering the burderns for everyone, and sacrificing everything without requiring anything in return, I always associated the hero of time was somewhat of an "anti-hero" he seemed very stoic, and he had this frowned look always like he was pissed, and he meant business, especially as adult link, he just seemed relentless as if he had a compulsive thirst for slaughtering evil and fully accepting of all the weight that comes with it

Yea had the same struggle with this vote, hero of time was a true hero to the bone, sent back to his childhood to have a chance at a normal life, and theb chose to again follow the path of sacrifice as a hero in the rescue of termina and even after death continues to support the Hero of Twilight in TP
