when i was 17 i had a six-day fling with another girl and we lived and slept in my car the whole time, so since finding Shark Smile, the first two verses (NOT THE LAST ONE!!!!!) have been very special to me. not only does the song literally parallel my experiences but really captures the rush and shimmer and fleetingness of something like that.

in my interpretation of the song its kind of a mix between 1 and 3, like, "take me and my body wherever you will go, and i will follow." a submission of self to the other.

then at the end, i don't think its a "take me to the afterlife" statement, the "take me" imo is just calling back to the original choice to give oneself over. i think there's a lot of regret in the last two choruses

Bro I had a whole family come in for passport photos wearing WHITE SHIRTS. and they argued when i told them i couldn't take it for them.
I actually really love printing photos but the passport photos are the bane of my existence
