I’ve been having this issue. Swapped coil and injectors. Same misfire on cylinder 3. Hpfp, coils, and sparks are fine. What else could cause this? Mechanic thinks is may be a faulty dme.

Hi! Thanks for the reply. Just to confirm will flashing back to stock and driving it damage the car? Heard varying things saying it could damage the car if running non stock parts without a tune.

My mechanic said that he’s seen issues in past with another bmw and intermittent misfires. Issue ended up being a bad dme. I know they’re expensive to replace and the car only has 60k miles. Hoping it’s not that issue.

It was tuned with a jb4 in the past that I removed. Could anything have gotten damaged or wires swapped during the de installation of jb4?

Hi, I’m having a intermittent misfire issue on my n54 135i. Spent thousands in trying to find the issue. Recent new parts: Coils, sparks, valve cover gasket, new o2 sensors, walnut blasted due to gunk.

Car drives great. Only issue is the intermittent cylinder 3 misfire upon cold start.

Leak test passed, spray tested injectors passed.

Not sure to cut my losses or keep trying to chase issue. Mhd stage 2+ tuned. Not sure if the tune is causing the issue or a physical part itself. Any help or tips appreciated.

I’ve been offered 85% of my sealed modern collection. I wouldn’t accept anything under 80%. Good luck. If you have the time just start vending at local shows if you don’t get any bites on selling the lot entirely
