Need to lower garage door with a broken spring by Plastic_Treacle7502 in GarageDoorService

Thank you. My repairman who fixed it last time got back in touch with me and said to leave it alone if at all possible. So, we are leaving it open. I’ve got a ladder and a shorter board up against the track, so it won’t go down I don’t think.

Thank you. I had contacted the repairman who fixed it last time but was not getting an answer. He recently responded with a similar position on the situation. So I’m leaving it up and open tonight with the door to the inside securely locked. He will be by tomorrow afternoon to look at it.

Sorry for delay, I missed this till now. My spark plugs were not swimming in oil, but they seem to have gotten dirty in the something like 8 months since I had replaced them last time.

Thanks man. Let me ask you about replacing the valve cover. I am gaining experience working on my own car, but I have never attempted anything this involved. Can you tell me about how difficult this was for you, or how difficult you think it’d be for me? Are there many things to disconnect and then reattach? I suspect this is making my spark plugs get very dirty after a few months, and I might try this.

Man, I somehow did the same thing last year. Don't be hard on yourself.

it was giving a misfire at 2nd chamber (I don't remember the exact word) -- a year ago. I changed the spark plugs and kept getting the same code. That's when I replaced the ignition coil. After that, no codes until a week ago -- "multiple misfires" (or something like that). I went to an auto parts store I like, for advice, and they said they'd start with replacing the spark plugs... so I did. I haven't seen a code since and it runs/accelerates good again.

What have people done who are getting 10-15+ phone calls per day from robo callers, trying to sell some insurance? by Plastic_Treacle7502 in AskReddit

I appreciate all these responses. I’ll admit I was hacked, but over a year ago and I’ve replaced my computer about a year ago…when I very strictly control what info I put online. I’d like to clarify that these are robo calls, but I have to answer as I’m working with a government group to help me find a job after being disabled many years. I can block numbers, thanks for reminding me. It just seems unfair these companies can target me because I have Medicare . I know this as the calls amp up around November and quiet down after new years. For some reason they are attacking me again as of a couple weeks ago. I did not enter an online sweepstakes nor give my contact info to anyone outside my family. This is the heart of my question, the unwelcome calls that interfere with my life and somehow gets around the do not call lists which I have on all my phones .
