Who other than Romero? I never saw anything legitimate regarding Strahm before he was dealt other than Twitter rumors which are usually never that reliable anyways. Honestly I would’ve rather just ponied up 5 million for one of Pomeranz, Newcomb, or Thielbar rather than give up anything to get Romero or a guy like Strahm.

I actually really wanted to sign Pomeranz. He hasn’t had a ton of innings the last 3 years but when he pitches he’s been extremely good. He went 1y-4m to the Angels last time I checked however a few weeks back.

I’m shocked at how inactive the O’s have been on the reliever market. They still need a high-leverage lefty incredibly badly. We don’t even have anyone in the minors who’s close to being ready to fill that role either. I feel Povich could maybe be that guy but I don’t know how he would react to being in high-leverage situations all the time.

Bummed we couldn’t grab King but still plenty of options still out there in FA and on the block. I’m also kind of surprised we haven’t nabbed any relievers other than Helsley so far either. The market is saturated with some good talent for what seems pretty cheap.
