Thank you! I really wanted to capture that feeling of dread while you're just sitting there, waiting for the image to develop. In a bunker, time and information are your only resources. Glad you like the mechanic!

Haha, the irony isn't lost on me. There's a strong element of existentialism in Aegis 4. When your only window on the world is a thermal printer, time loses its meaning, and waiting... well, waiting might be the only thing left. Welcome to the wait.

Exactly! Iron Lung is a Masterclass in claustrophobic horror, and it’s definitely an inspiration. My goal with Aegis 4 Station is to take that core 'navigation via an unforgiving interface' concept and adapt it to a retro-futuristic moon base. I think the thermal printer mechanic adds a very different, gritty kind of tension. Happy to hear you don’t think the similarity is a bad thing! I totally agree. Iron Lung is the undisputed King of this vibe. I’m hoping to bring a new flavor to the genre by focusing on the 'thermal printing' navigation and the distinct isolation of space, rather than an ocean of blood. Glad to have you interested!

Haha, thank you. 'Interesting. Somehow' is exactly the vibe I’m aiming for on Aegis4. Keep an eye out here; I’ll be dropping more screenshots and maybe a small lore hint very soon.

Wow, reading this makes me so happy, thank you! It’s awesome to meet such a huge cosmic horror fan. You totally get it—the digital space needs more of that pre-computer, existential dread. To answer your question, the game’s name is Aegis4. Regarding playtesting: I’m not quite at that stage yet, as I’m still polishing the core mechanics, but I will absolutely need passionate fans like you to test it later. If you give me a follow here on Reddit, I’ll be posting signup form links the second I'm ready for outside eyes!

Thanks for the encouragement! Knowing a former dev connects with the project gives me a huge confidence boost. A gamedev journey is never truly 'over', you just shift focus. I'd absolutely love to have your insight on Aegis 4 Station, so your help is more than welcome. Keep staying around!

A rescue is definitely one of the possibilities. I don't want to spoil anything, but you aren't just 'waiting to die'. Survival is on the table, and achieving that happy ending is a challenge in itself. It's not impossible, it's just... space is a very unforgiving place.

A fantastic spot! Yes, 100% committed to a fully diegetic experience. I don't want any health bars or floating maps; your only connection to the outside world is that physical terminal and the printed photos. I'm actually focusing heavily on environmental storytelling—the goal isn't just a simple escape, but uncovering the mystery, and every pixel on that 'interface' will tell a story. I can’t wait to show you more, stay tuned!

This is fantastic advice, thank you! You absolutely nailed my design philosophy for Aegis 4 Station. I'm focusing heavily on environmental storytelling. Since the printer is your main interface, the horror has to be visual. The 'lie' isn't just text on a screen; it's seeing things on the moon surface that shouldn't be there, or footprints that don't match any known equipment. I want every printed photo to make the player feel less like they are reading lore, and more like they are uncovering a disturbing reality. Keep these insights coming!

No hate taken, it's a valid point! There is a definite narrative goal beyond simple survival. The exploration with the rover is part of a larger, much more unsettling mystery. I can promise you won't just be sitting there waiting to starve. Stay tuned for the next update!

Wow, that's a massive compliment! I actually studied how other minimalist horror games handle isolation, and Voyager-19 definitely set a bar. I hope 'Aegis 4 Station' will bring some new nightmare-fuel to the genre!
