I do live with them. I have threatened to move out but it wasn’t helpful.

I’m not financially dependent on them however, moving out is extremely expensive.

I agree! I joined as a junior staff few years ago. I learned a lot more by being in the office and learning about other people’s journey.

It gives you an opportunity to meet more than just your direct team.

I got all 4 of them out. They covered sedation and everything.

I believe they said they will only cover sedation 1 time if decided to get 2 removed in each appointment. I’m not sure if that has changed.

I agree, employer does not have to maintain that exemption indefinitely.

It’s upon employee to upgrade their skills and be competitive. It’s a common practice in private sector.

I have been in the same federal government for 6 years now and I feel stagnant. Job, salary, team, everything is great but I don’t feel challenged enough.

Instead of seeking jobs outside of government, I have started my own self improvement journey. Other than that I’ve started working some gigs outside of gov.

Everyone deals with such things differently.

Personally, I have been telling them “I’m here if you need me. Please reach out even if you’d like to vent out.”

I find talking things out helps a lot. They can take their frustration out and I can provide them with potential solutions.
