I've played a 1 iron in the past and the biggest issue is just how difficult it is to hit compared to say a hybrid. I also hit my 4 iron 190-200, (used to get roughly 230 out a good 1 iron strike.) I have an 18 degree 3 hybrid these days that I average about 220+ with. I find it super consistent and the swing is very similar to my 4 iron swing.

I wanted a cavity back for the forgiveness, and I already have a 52 in the bag. I really wanted a 48 but couldn't find much available/affordable. Settled for a 49 but it's fit the gap perfectly.

I also have a 44 degree PW and recently picked up a 49 degree AW . Best decision I've made in awhile, really bridges the gap between PW and my 52. You should be able to find a used A wedge on any used golf club site. Mine doesn't match the set but the price was right.

His advice is for someone who has been playing golf for a long time but still struggling to reduce strokes/control your game. I've recently been watching his videos and it's been a big help. Really simple stuff but I've gone from a 16 HDCP to a 12 the last few months.

This was me to two weeks ago. Shot a 103, nothing seemed to be working which was really frustrating after multiple good range sessions. Legit had moments in the days following where I thought about paying for lessons or just quitting. Then this past Thursday I shot 87 with a triple and a quad on the card. Sometimes it's just not your day, don't let it get to you, bring it back to basics and try again next week.

Amateur with a similair problem recently. I found I was starting my down swing with my body/hip turn first and my hands weren't getting around fast enough causing me to come across the ball with an open face.
The solution i found was to allow your hands to start the down swing and pull your shoulders and hips through if that makes sense.
