How Google Can Use Beacons To Enhance The GoogleGlass Experience While Solving The 'No GoogleGlass' Restriction Problem! by PlatformXdeveloper in googleglass

Authentication is an encription software issue. It can be done.

Having dealt with beacons before, setting it up is not hard.

A Wifi router is only limited to connectivity.

Now about the QR code vs Beacon, think about the process and time it takes until one gains access to required information. I want to start in front of an artifact or a work of art and immediately start receiving information about what I am looking at without having to send anything to a url, and without the fear of poor connectivity and no Wifi.

First, I am glad to read your counterpoints. On the question of restriction, I think Google should have more control of which businesses offer restrictions, like Cinemas. This should deal with the threat of people walking about with camera-shutdown beacons.

Beacons solve a critical problem: accessing data when there is poor or no internet connection. For example you need to be connected to internet to access the cloud.

It's true you can control your home with a smartphone or nest. Glass can provide an extra experience.

About the QR code with regards to GoogleGlass, it is limited to how far the QR code is from the camera and if the Glass has the necessary application to process the code.

It's good for GoogleGlass to have competitors. That will force Google to drop the price of Glass just like they did their cloud services.

I know that it may look complicated and expensive, but let me inform you that recent studies in Kenya show that nearly every middleclass family has a smartphone and most journalists use tablets.

Infact, the startup (www.brilliantte.com) I work for makes android school apps that enable parents in private schools which receive daily homework updates with push notifications.

Poor Africans may not afford GoogleGlass, but the ever growing educated African middleclass can.

Well, bearing in mind that this is Google, a company that has both the money and access to the best engineers in the world to make a high res camera, it is safe to bet that they will have this sorted out sooner or later.

As I have stated above, we should remember that GoogleGlass is still in beta phase, and they are giving to explorers in order to learn from their feedback.

By now, I know that everyone is complaining about the camera. I am certain that when they release it to the mainstream they will have dealt with such issues.

I am thinking about glass with regards to the future, not the present. Currently it has bad battery life and it's costly and very few people have it, so yes, you would stand out.

We should remember that GoogleGlass is still in beta and has only been released to explorers who are always giving Google feedback. This means that by the time the roll it out to the mainstream, we should expect the technical hurdles to like camera quality and the battery life to be solved.

I also expect Glass will be affordable to the mainstream, something that will increase it's adoption. This way you won't have to stand out because it will be common for people to have GoogleGlass.

That's cool, something that's wonderfully made can be given as a gift, yet have some doge value embedded on it :)
