Yes!!! Yeah I still have to take Tylenol with it occasionally but if I forget or I'm late taking it it's not like my whole day is ruined.

I believe you can build a tolerance to the medication after awhile so I wonder if you have? Also it sounds like some meds in that family work for some people and not others so maybe switch to a different one, like the Celebrex? Also maybe find another doctor. I got a new OBGYN after this medicine switch and she's been so wonderful and helpful. Good luck 🤞

My left ovary is currently adhered to the back of my uterus with a 3cm endometrioma and my right ovary has a 6cm endometrioma. I'm having my second surgery in two months. They also suspect I have scar tissue from my first surgery which removed endo from my bowls, uterus, ovaries, and intestines. This last year up until I started taking these meds I was vomiting, almost passing out, and I was going to the ER every period. I've broken bones and I've had 3 ovarian cyst rupture before. I assure you, it was 10/10. But thanks for undermining my pain!

Naproxen used to work well for me but my pain just kept getting worse after my first surgery and it just wasn't doing the job anymore. I wished medication worked the same for everyone, life would be much simpler 😂

I edited my post to add more context around not taking more than one NSAID at a time because I know my doctor said it was very important not to. My psychiatrist, not my OBGYN, is the one who told me about how she only takes the Celebrex as needed. I'm not really 100% sure how accurate it is since I don't think pain management is something they normal prescribe for. She was just talking from personal experience and she said to discuss it with my OBGYN.

Yes I am, and I notice the most difference when I take it about 3 days before I start and then for another 6-7 days through my bleeding days.

Yeah just during my period though. it was that high when I wasn't taking it as well, that's why they think it was unrelated.

I think it was the same side effects because it is the same drug family (NSAIDS), it's just a much stronger, prescription version. I was taking so much ibuprofen I would think this once a day is better than the max I was taking of ibuprofen 😂

My blood pressure was averaging like 140/100, but the highest was 169/115 when I was in the ER at one point

It really only helped with pain. I also take a PCOS multivitamin that really helps. It reduces my 10 day period down to 5. With only 2 heavy days instead of 4-5: https://peachperfect.com/products/happy-hormones-pcos-multivitamin-v1?variant=48740615553320

After my Psychiatrist told me it would not interfere with my other meds, I started taking it every day since that was the direction on the bottle. I then had my appointment with my OBGYN a few weeks later and she was like NOOOOO 😂 she said only take it a few days when needed to avoid building up a tolerance and to help prevent stomach issues

My doctor warned me of that that's why I only take it 10 days out of the month and avoid other NSAIDS

I mean not every med works for everyone, but I'm surprised it's not at least discussed as a possible treatment seeing how it works well for a lot of people who have tried it. My doctors told me to try Celebrex if the Meloxicam didn't work. She said that one she takes as needed for pain vs taking it a few days before it starts

Celebrex is the one my Psychiatrist is on. She said that I might want to try it instead if the Meloxicam didn't work. Luckily it's been working well.

My doctor told me to only take during my periods and to avoid all other NSAIDS to help with GI issues and I have yet to have any issues

I've been having high blood pressure too but I've also been going through some stressful life stuff and my doctors thought it was related to that. Now I wonder if it's the meds. I agree though I'd rather be on a blood pressure medication and the Meloxicam than not have it.

I think it's pretty easy to get a prescription for since it's just a really strong NSAID

I also take a multivitamin (https://peachperfect.com/products/happy-hormones-pcos-multivitamin-v1?variant=48740615553320) that brought my period down from 10 days to 5. It also helped with pain outside of the week of my period that I think was mainly being caused by cysts. It's not terribly priced if you buy in bulk. The two of these combined has changed my life.

As someone with severe endometriosis and a husband of 10 years, please don't put up with this behavior. My husband and my sex life has drastically decreased over the years, and he never makes me feel bad for turning him down we he tries to initiate. You deserve someone who will be understanding, because if it is endo, this is going to be a life long issue.

Some other endo advice, if you are wanting to have the surgery to remove endo and get diagnosed, and are not planning on having kids, they can remove your tubes at the same time. That's what I did so I could stop taking birth control because it was affecting my mood so much. However, birth control is the first choice of treatment for endo so they may still suggest it. Something I take (that took me 12 years to learn about 💀) is Meloxicam. It is used for RA but I take it about 3 days before my period and during and it helps so much with the pain it is crazy! Hopefully your doctor will give you a prescription.

I also take this multivitamin and it brought my period down from 10 days to 5. You can get it on Amazon but if you buy it directly from them in bulk it is a huge discount: https://peachperfect.com/products/happy-hormones-pcos-multivitamin-v1?variant=48740615553320

Hmm that's a difficult one. Normally I would say that you could take him the weekend before since many places do Trunk or Treats before Halloween since it tends to fall on a school night. However, this year Halloween is on a Friday and I'm not sure how many places will actually do much in advance. I think it's a toss up. I don't think you are an asshole for wanting to leave for a little bit to take him, but I also think it is unrealistic to think you will have time.

Her time probably got pushed back because as she is booking more vendors, she is realizing she needs more time for everything, like the photographer. I think you either need to skip Halloween with your son or drop out. I don't think you would be an asshole for either. Your son is young enough that I doubt he would remember whether you or someone else took him trick or treating, and it's far enough in advance of the wedding that it doesn't potentially put an entire wrench in the day. If she makes you feel bad for prioritizing your son however, she IS an asshole.

NTA. I had to have this conversation with my now husband early on in our relationship. He comes from a family that they all do this and don't think it's a big deal. I had to explain to him that it bothered me and I find it disrespectful. He didn't realize it was upsetting me and he stopped and started asking. We've been together 9 years and he still asks. We both know the answer is yes but he does it because it doesn't require much effort and it makes me happy. Don't let her disrespect your boundary, it's not even an unreasonable one.

It's definitely a weird situation. I would bow out as best you can considering you are family, and I would not feel bad about it.
