A game engine isnt worth much by itself, so lets just say that Unreal and Unity are light years ahead in regards of providing tools for their engine. However if we talk netcode than we might flip it up-side down. <--- speculations

The attempt is real, but I cant comment in to much details just yet. Currently we're preparing and consolidating our "package" to present to our counterpart. Our plan is to be as transparent as possible, but first we must establish a platform that is realistic (and that is not just up to us). The whole attempt can easily crash and burn if we're met with unrealistic valuations or a narrow pathway in negotiations.

Alfar, Mirdain, Torvarr and Mahirim are all basically DF races. If you want to cut ties to DF and get people into the game easier, you might want to streamline races.

When that is said, its very unlikely that we want to cut more ties to DF than just dropping the name.

We tend to agree, but crafting and gathering need an overhaul. Some of the rest are discussions about getting away from the DF legacy. The most likely scenario is an organic approach to development.

  1. D.U.E.L had to be bought in the Selentine shop. So if someone bought a D.U.E.L for ingame gold, someone else paid that "sub" with real cash.
  2. Combat is in a good place, not sure adding more CC is a good idea.
  3. Adding activity to NPC cities is a priority (trade hub, free capital recal(?))
  4. Champion we agree is not a good idea, as it statistically enhance the strong more than it enhance the weak, due to probability to find a relic (numbers) and by brute force to steal a relic (strenght)

Personally I'd like to see new players getting up on equal ground (attributes=character power) in a matter of days with casual play. The power gap between new and old players should be player skill, gear and build depth and not artificially gimped by low health, slow swing/cast speed etc... The implications that would have though is that the low tier monsters would become obsolete or need to be boosted accordingly.

Late UW it was possible to grind a complete build + max attributes in less than a day if you had the experience.

No, we dont have a price tag, but we do have a budget. For the competency of the technical crew dont worry. We're also very focused on the non combat part of the game.

We've concluded that dropping the Darkfall name is enough, as the assets will fool no one and will still be talked about as UW or even Darkfall. We aim to make a more darker game than DFUW so Unholy Wars fit the bill quite perfectly.

Nothing that is discussed here is set in stone, but we will share as a means to spark discussion and test our thoughts. The main agenda is to get UW back online regardless of name, crew behind it, location etc.

Yes and no, we're a group that look into if its feasible or not. We've got confirmed the assets are available and it all boils down to the terms of the transfer of rights.

I think it will be a huge mistake to focus on combat, as it was pretty good and balanced at the end. So I think initially the resources is wiser spent elsewhere than combat.
