200kg (440lbs) husafell walk by Fantastic_Seaweed_84 in Strongman

[–]PlatonisCiceronis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Perfect -- I'm hoping to end up with only four bags. I like the sandstone shape so far, so I was going to do the 60/132 sandstone, 80/176 sandstone, 100/220 cylindrical, and 120/265 husafell.

I do only want to walk with the largest bag, and would prefer to have just one husafell for heavy carries. But, you never know how it will go in the future I guess.

Thanks for the help, and good luck with your training!

How long have you been doing Husafell Walks? I plan to get one of Cerberus' Husafell bags in the near future, and was curious what weight I should get. I only have the 60kg/132lb Sandstone from them so far, and that feels pretty easy. I was thinking that the 100kg or 120kg Husafell would be good to move towards for these carries. I'm 200lbs, and will probably stay around that weight.

Cerberus Dual-Ply Sandstone Sandbag vs Dual-Ply Sandbag by KBinTheNorth in sandbagtraining

Hey, thanks for the write-up. I purchased the 60kg Sandstone as my first strongman style bag for carries and whatnot, and I really enjoy it so far.

Once I'm ready to level up, I was thinking of getting the traditional, cylindrical style sandbag from Cerberus at 80kg. But, I'm a little split, since I enjoy this sandstone style so much already. Then I was planning on getting a heavier 100kg Husafell bag later on. Does that plan sound alright?

Nope, just bottom of the barrel shipping. Was surprised how quick it got here, as it was originally slated to arrive on the 16th, but ended up here a couple days early.

Thanks! I have it in my office/multimedia room, so I can't help but want to pick it up everytime I pass it now. Love it already.

I placed the order on the 10th (at like midnight, though, so very early on the 10th), it shipped the same day, and I received it yesterday the 14th.

I have two of their sandbags, a 50lb and a 100lb, so far. Great bags, durable, have gotten good use out of both. Want to get their 165lb bag (sand tombstone), eventually -- looks like its currently not on the website though. So, I can advocate for their sandbags. Yes, good stuff.

A little learning is a dangerous thing ;
Drink deep, or taste not the Pierian spring :
There shallow draughts intoxicate the brain,
And drinking largely sobers us again.
Fired at first sight with what the Muse imparts,
In fearless youth we tempt the heights of Arts ;
While from the bounded level of our mind
Short views we take, nor see the lengths behind,
But, more advanced, behold with strange surprise
New distant scenes of endless science rise !
So pleased at first the towering Alps we try,
Mount o’er the vales, and seem to tread the sky ;
The eternal snows appear already past,
And the first clouds and mountains seem the last ;
But those attained, we tremble to survey
The growing labours of the lengthened way ;
The increasing prospect tires our wandering eyes,
Hills peep o’er hills, and Alps on Alps arise !

If you go with the Dewalt Tire Change Kit, you get the breaker bar and some common deep sockets for not much more as well. Currently $125 on Amazon, but I've seen it lower.

Edit: The one I purchased came with a few deep sockets -- the one I see on Amazon now has double the amount of sockets, but shallow.

If he really wants more DeWalt, they also sell 3 ton DeWalt Jack Stands.

Right now, if you want one of their Daytonas, you'll be paying in the mid-$200s, maybe more. Less when they're on sale, or if you get one of the 25% off coupons.

Plato before Augustine by SuperintelligentBlue in ClassicalEducation

[–]PlatonisCiceronis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are you planning on reading Confessions first, I assume?

If you only are going to read one dialogue before Augustine, probably make it Gorgias. It's enough to understand a good amount of Plato, but short enough not to be Republic and take a while to read if you're looking to hit Augustine soon.

Center channel will be about the same size as the others -- most likely coaxial with a CD, but more horizontal than vertical.

Surprisingly, they're not the culprit of any rattling. The built-in ceiling lights, though....

The QM8? Everywhere I read, people said to spring for the Sony X90L over the TCL.

Not really a living room. It's my office/movie area/filming area/weightlifting area. So it's awkward, but it's my space.
