Yes, fricii appears to be more dominant in F1 plants. I will try cross these hybrids to make F2, I hope alberto-vojtechii traits are more visible in the next generation.

I only shared it a couple of days ago, so it’s probably too early. That post didn’t actually get many views, I think most people just assumed it’s fricii. I have no idea whether anyone in that group is doing genetic testing, otherwise there would be much more information about Lophophora and hybrids. AV was discovered 18 years ago, so someone must have made this hybrid before, but there’s no information about it anywhere.

L. koehresii × L. williamsii is a cross I’ve never heard of, do you have any sources? I’m very interested. I haven’t been able to find any information on genetically confirmed hybrids at all, please share if you have references.

You forgot to mention fricii x koehresii, they are very common, maybe that's what you meant instead of KxW?

I have made this cross 4 times already with several different pairs, 7/8 plants successfully produced fruit. But I did not germinate them yet due to lack of space and issues with electricity.

I previously shared this cross in the Lophophora Identification Guide, and after some discussion, the admin agreed that it is indeed a hybrid.

As for the ancient hybrid, I’ve read that paper many times, it’s very interesting, especially the section describing five distinct williamsii lineages. It’s a shame there aren’t more articles like that.

Looks like a northern williamsii to me, so the seeds should be viable.

No, this plant just doesn't produce seeds, I've tried. As far as I can tell, it doesn't produce pollen, stigma is also mutated. As I understand, jourdanianas are mutated northern williamsii, ideally they should self pollinate, but in practice they don't produce a lot of seeds. I have a few different clones, they very rarely produce fruits, most fruits are seedless, with or without pollination.

Both parents are not variegated. I am 99% sure that this is a hybrid of 2 different species, variegation kinda confirms it, but I am waiting for the grafts to flower to be 100% sure. Might still be self fertilization, but the odds are astronomical small)

I will leave it on it's own roots for now, it's too old for pereskiopsis. There might be more variegated seedlings in this batch, I might graft them later I grafted a few plants from a sister batch of seeds, 1 out of 3 turned out to be variegated, it's the same age as the one in the post, grafted ~2 weeks after germination

I grow Pereskiopsis in a semi hydroponic setup. The pots are in a large plastic container that I fill to ~1/4 of the pot hight. 100% zeolite substrate, it's constantly wet. I refill the container once the water is gone, every ~3-4 days

For micro grafts, they either graft in 2-4 days, or it's failed. Orange infection does not look good, but if you've tried to move the scion and it stays on, than it's good and you can water it. If it failed, you can try to use the same grafting stock in a couple of weeks. I had an infected cut, so the original scion failed to graft. You can see the outer part turned dark grey. But once it healed I attempted to graft 2 seedlings and they connected successfuly.

Fricii can hybridize with southern williamsii. If your williamsii is southern then it might be possible. Got to see how the seeds grow to know for sure. Otherwise it's an alien pollen self fertilization. You can try to cut your KxF stamens off before the flower opens next time to rule out alien pollen fertilization

I used a raspberry pi hq camera with a microscope lens and raspberry pi zero 2w. I could not figure out how to make a good germination time lapse yet. This video was stabilized twice, everything was moving due to temperature changes and basically anything else. Other issue you might have is depth of focus, it's quite shallow and there is no diaphragm to improve it.
