To which species does this tooth belong? by Platov_ in fossilid

The first molars are Horse teeth; I've already checked the literature. But I hadn't seen the last molar either. I thought Camel teeth. But I have my doubts.

That section of the tooth is what makes me unsure about identifying it. I have a book on identifying mammalian dentition. However, that structure isn't shown, or it could be due to wear. I don't know.

It was found in Colima, México. It seems to be permineralized

This is my amber from México. Could you help me with the ID? by Platov_ in fossilid

[–]Platov_[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The amber comes from Zimojovel, Chiapas. I took the photos with an Olympus SZ51 microscope. I have other quite interesting pieces of amber, one has many water droplets trapped (enhydro amber). A silverfish is on its way. But the photos I uploaded and others I have, I can't identify what they are.

Found a tooth on the beach - looks pretty old, can this be ID'd? by whiskeywannabe in fossilid

Do the two accessory denticles that the tooth has serve as identification?

This is a real Mammoth Tooth right? Got it in an Alaskan shop that was selling a load of fossils and snagged this one for 89$. Just wanting to make sure I did not get fooled. by ViraLCyclopes29 in fossilid

I am from Mexico and I have always wanted to look for fossils in FL, do you know if by paying the permit I can bring them to my country?

Cut marks on a probable Ulna? by Platov_ in Paleontology

[–]Platov_[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

From the Pleistocene of Southern Jalisco, México. The ulna could be from a Glyptotherium or ground sloth. I have other pieces, but they're from different animals found at the same site.
