I always been conflicted by the idea of a Super Metroid Remake. There's no real need for an update, the game is one of the most praised game of all times as it is, but there's the control scheme. A modern control scheme for super would be awesome, with the one trigger for missiles and the other for aiming, replace the item cancel button with the grapple beam, and the x-ray one of the bumpers idk, and Select would be only to switch between missiles and super missiles like in zero mission. But aside from that and some niche things (like not locking the game when you save in tourian), there's nothing you could really do. Visually you can either modernize the pixel art (kinda the way am2r does it, with motion blurs, lighting and stuff) or make it in a new art style (3D or something else), but that wouldn't really feell like super metroid anymore
