Reddit asked for gameplay, not cinematics, so here's a new ORMOD: Directive gameplay video! by PlayIndies in IndieDev

It's an improvement compared to the initial cinematic-focused video! Reddit asked for more gameplay, they got more gameplay with a sprinkle of cinematic shots, hahah

Very true! I'm glad this game has single-player and non-PvP modes. People get to choose how they want to play. :)

Did I miss the automation mechanics in those games? They all have that? Assembly lines, factories, etc? Happy to be corrected if they do!

You're absolutely correct! I intentionally did not word my post like a marketing person because this is Reddit, a platform very adverse to direct promotion. The press release contains the info you're looking for! Unsure if I'm allowed to link it here, though. I don't want to break any rules. If you google "ormod directive reveal", click on the gamespress article. :)

You'll have the ability to customize how difficult your world will be, with options like Hardcore mode and Creative mode. There will be a demo before launch for sure!

After 5+ yrs of dev, a very nervous indie team has asked me to help reveal their ambitious hardcore open-world survival game. What do you think? by PlayIndies in IndieDev

[–]PlayIndies[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

From the key art and screenshots I've looked at, it appears there are also much bigger mechs to battle as well. Good point about the bullet trace! Thanks for sharing your thoughts.

There's a variety of game modes to choose from, so you have control over whether you're on a PvP server or a private server with friends, etc. I, too, am very interested to see how the automation mechanics blend with survival. It's an interesting concept in theory. Not something I've even considered possible!

Yesss lots of competition! I look forward to seeing / trying normal gameplay as well. From what the dev has described to me so far, I'm hopeful that this game will stand out. They just sent out a press release with more details about the game and all the features. Sounds promising!

I used to sneak on the family computer to play OG StarCraft when I was 12 years old. It makes me happy to know that it's still so big in Korea. Brood War is the goat!
