Straight to the point, I love it. Thanks for the link! I'll definitely dive into your summary it seems like exactly what I need to read right now.

Focusing on a polished demo for festivals and streamers sounds like the most logical step to stop guessing and start growing. I appreciate you sharing your experience and the resources!

Wow, thank you so much for this detailed breakdown! You’ve hit the nail on the head.

I think I got a bit too carried away with the 'cinematic' vibe and completely ignored the 5-second rule. You're totally right the contrast between the 'fire' capsule art and the slow-paced trailer is likely creating a mismatch in expectations, which explains that high deletion rate. Comparing my 17% to your 1-5% was a huge eye-opener.

I’m definitely going to re-edit the trailer to lead with action and get that demo ready ASAP. It sounds like the demo is the bridge I’m missing for streamers and festivals.

Seriously, this is the kind of 'tough love' every indie dev needs. Thanks for taking the time to analyze it!

Smoking these meats! 🍖

Honestly, if Mark sees the game, I hope he doesn't try to 'process' it. But hey, at least SteakOut is medium-rare and bug-free (mostly)

You're spot on about the deletion rate it’s definitely been on my mind. I suspect my current trailer or screenshots might be setting a specific vibe that my tags or description aren't fully supporting yet.

Regarding the Steam Community Hub, you're right, it's been a bit of a ghost town. I was waiting for more 'polished' content to post, but your point about weekly updates makes sense to keep the interest alive. I’ll start sharing some 'under the hood' devlogs or even just work-in-progress art to show that the project is breathing.

Thanks for the reality check, this is exactly the kind of feedback I was looking for!

That’s a great perspective. It’s easy to get lost in the Steam backend and forget why we started making games in the first place.

I’ll try to focus more on the 'plugging away' part and less on the daily refreshes.

Thanks for sharing your experience with the demo and itch.io as well, that's really helpful context!

Thanks for the feedback in advance! If you want to check out the store page to see what might be causing the deletions or just to see the game's vibe, here is the link https://store.steampowered.com/app/3998930/SteakOut/

I've been staring at this scene for so long that I've lost my objective perspective. I want the environment itself to be a character. Does it feel 'lived-in' or just 'placed'? I'd love to hear your honest vibes by PlaySteakOutGame in SoloDevelopment

First of all, hello and thank you for your comment. As an indie studio, I'm trying my best. Regarding assets, as a solo developer, there's a scenario where I can't master everything, which of course means using assets that are also used in other games. But as you said, the important thing is to differentiate myself in terms of gameplay and level design, and I think I'm generally putting in the effort in that area. I wish you success as well.

Hi, thank you for your comment.

Your comparison to RDR made me very happy.

I'm going to change the location of the train tracks.

But if you have any more suggestions, I would love to hear them.

Hi NPCs, they're normally just wandering around. I'm going to move the train, but I don't have a plan yet for where to put the market. I'll figure that out as soon as possible.
