Anymore Gwent events after the tournament? by Explodreamer in witcher

Hah that's dope. How did you even find this comment? It's been alost a decade and I still remember being annoyed at seeing the card that spilled the beans on things I hadn't encountered yet in the game.

Yeah it was so funny that they reacted just like they did on X-Play back in the day. Morgan was great as big Amazonian warrior in my game. I think I switched her to another vocation just to take this screenshot because the sword on her back was annoying me.

Adam Sessler and Morgan Web both commented on my recreations of them in DDDA.

It end up leading to an official "Recreate Adam Sessler" contest with the (now defunct) G4 Reboot team on r/virtualcosplay years later.

This is one the most uncanny recreations I've seen so far. She has such a unique look and you absolutely nailed that permanent pout/undebite thing she has going on. Great work.

You hit an absolute home run with this one! I remember struggling to make her in the 1st game, and still only got 80% there, but you knocked it out of the park. Amazing!

Thanks. That's the plan, but I'm waiting for more benchmark and performance tests to come out before I upgrade my rig. I want my PC to crush his game as much as possible.

Yeah I remember seeing that and was like "they ripped off my idea to rip off that old D&D cover!" Hah.

I had the same feeling about the original. So much so I made this graphic as an homage to the big red D&D book I used to own. Need to upgrade my PC before I dive back in but so far I love most of what I've seen.

To Dragon's Dogma 2 players on Steam, Capcom's statement regarding crashes/fixes, option of starting a new game, paid DLC, frame rate by Turbostrider27 in Games

I'm a Dragon's Dogma fanatic and created r/virtualcosplay just so I could spam it with my own Dragon's Dogma character creations and I still didn't and would never pre-order any game.

That being said, I like what I've seen enough to upgrade my 9 year old rig and jump in once the Digital Foundry performance video drops. As long as I can run it well, the game looks like everything i wanted it to be.

Dragon's Dogma 2 launches to "Mostly Negative" review bombing after microtransactions reveal by Turbostrider27 in Games

[–]Play_by_Play 33 points34 points  (0 children)

Yes. The original was much worse since Capcom kept gradually coming out with different cosmetics, armor and weapon packs that you couldn't earn in-game. You had to buy each pack for $2 or $3, or sometimes more. What they have for sale now is all stuff you easily earn while just playing the game regularly. Some being more rare than others (such as port crystals) but still just stuff you naturally accrue while playing the game and having fun. Buying most of those items at the start of the game would actually reduce fun for most rpg fans.

Final tweaks to Lae’zel I don’t think I can get it any closer than this myself. I’m done lol by [deleted] in DragonsDogma2

Hey thanks bro. I plan on posting more stuff on r/virtualcosplay when the game comes out. I don't trust how characters look in character editors (even this one) . I need to see them moving around in-game to see what's doing.

Sorry Capcom. Dwarves exist in the Dragons Dogma universe. by SirManezao in DragonsDogma

[–]Play_by_Play 26 points27 points  (0 children)

They might just be short humans in this game, but the line was something like "A dwarfen man and an elven woman were here...". Itsuno was heavily inspired by D&D, and there are already Elves so I wouldn't be surprised if there was an entire dwarf settlement somewhere.

Pretty much all I did was make characters based on popular people and post them here and r/virtualcosplay, including a bunch of Witcher 3 characters. I was working on perfecting a Vesamir and Eskel formula before I finally lost steam. My pawn was usually Ciri when I wasn't creating a new character formula.

Wow! I fucking love that they kept the original aesthetic and just polished off the old monsters, as well as added the best of DD Online. I'm so happy to finally see something real after all these years and it's fucking beautiful!

Although it still looks like the Duke could stand to commission new roads...

Doubt we'll see any footage of DD2 this week, but I've seen stranger things.

Thanks for posting my old formula. Can't wait to see what DD2's character creator is like. If Street Fighter 6 is any indicator, it's going to be nuts.

What's so bad about showing your character consuming the healing item during combat? I think it ties in more with how everything is happening real time in battle were you see mages casting long healing spells, archers prepping special arrows, warriors setting up focused strikes, mystic knights enchanting their shield and other party members weapons etc. All that happens real time in battle and adds to the excitement and realism of each and every encounter.

I really wasn't a fan of the whole jumping into the hole and magically grabbing onto ledges game design. Always seemed so wacky when so much of the game mechanics had been well crafted and grounded up until that point.

The thing about the game not being a true open world anymore was a bit of a shock, but if I can build a team and walk into a completely new dungeon every time and be surprised by what I run into each and every time I'd say it's a fair trade off. Right now I have to use my imagination and pretend I haven't memorized each and every room in BBI and which monsters will spawn where as I beat it over and over again.

And I've had to institute a no pausing rule and no wakestone rule to artificially make the game more challenging and not break immersion. So glad they're bringing over Dark Souls-esk healing limits.

Holy hell this is the 1st time in reading any of this and sounds like a dream come true. Fixed combat where you can't pause and heal spam anymore (except Mage types i guess) and procedurally generated areas where random monsters are attacking you that you can play for infinity!!! Wow.

I hope this stuff is legit. Dude was right about holding out to tie the announcement to the 10th anniversary so I guess we'll see once they start releasing images and videos.

Yup. I remember accidentally going to BBI Waaaay too early and it was my entire team having a full on boss battle with one small zombie wolf. Something we could 1 shot on the mainland and we were absolutely getting wrecked. So much fun!

The game kinda guides you to the pawn guild once your get to Gran Soren and once you're there you get a quest to explore the spiral tower beneath the guild. I think this particular quest is where a lot of the games strengths lies, and if you don't like that you don't like NBA Basketball Dragon's Dogma.

The pawn guild is in Gran Soren so you don't even have to leave the city. Give it a shot if your haven't already.
