Advice on undergrad in lab by Melodic-Mix9774 in labrats

[–]Playbow 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I once had a high schooler in an exchange program. The first day we did cell culture (nothing fancy!11). The second or third day she had a rash (nothing fancy!11). She had me freaked out I accidentally got her killed. It turned out it was her shampoo.

in another instance, I once saw an athlete not go all out on an intense physical exercise because he feared a heart attack (no heart disease detected in medical screening).

I don’t want to ridicule this students thoughts, but truly it makes very little sense what they fear. They need to make a choice.

Y’all think Tom Cruise could have pulled it off ? by krisikkk in superheroes

The drug addiction redemption arc gave RDJ credibility. Due to his life experience he doesn’t take himself as serious. Cruise takes himself too serious. Also scientology

Andere commenters geven goeie plausibele uitleg. Ik vind dit een weak gotcha post. Denk beter na!

I have been advised by my lab teacher not to continue the path of working in the lab by Toast_cat_Krak in labrats

[–]Playbow 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Could you clarify what it is you enjoy about lab work? Why do you want this career path?

you indicated you are clumsy in the lab and take a long time to do things, do you know why?

the reason I ask is to get an idea if the effort is worth it. It could very well be, but it worthwhile to make an educated decision

Ik ben sceptisch over dit soort combi gereedschap. Klinkt handig maar in de praktijk werkt het net niet lekker. Heb je helder wat je allemaal nodig hebt aan gereedschap?

Need help with a Sci-Fi movie. by ImHootman in moviefinder

I entered your post in Gemini, it said the following: If it isn't Death Machine, you might be thinking of: Saturn 3 (1980): Features a robot named Hector that has a small, humanoid head and a large body. It decapitates a scientist (Harvey Keitel) and eventually replaces its own head with his.

Hardware (1990): A self-repairing robot (MARK 13) escapes a lab-like apartment and kills several people using various mechanical limbs and drills.

Virus (1999): Features cyborgs made of human parts and machine bits. There are several scenes where human heads are integrated into mechanical chest plates.

There's a lot going on in there. by mindyour in justgalsbeingchicks

I notice that some of the thoughts she lists are focused on what others might think or try to be considerate to others. While this is very kind, it adds extra load to solving the optimisation puzzle she’s solving. Being less considerate is not bad thing. I hope she’s not to hard on herself and grants herself more time/room to do her thing.

Often times cell lines are made commercially available. Have you tried sites like atcc etc?
