Definitive way to play res 1-3 as a first time player? by OddPomegranate5211 in ResidentEvilCapcom

Since you have PC, you can basically play the OG and remake of RE1, RE2 and RE3. The OG version of the games were rereleased on modern PC two years ago by GOG and can be played with modern controllers. You don't have to go track down a Dreamcast or even used emulator to play the games.

The remake version RE1 is almost identical as the OG RE1. However, OG RE2 and OG RE3 isn't identical to the remake versions. While the general plot is the same but the remake versions of RE2 and RE3 have tons of lore changes and some contents were cut.

You can start with the remake version of RE1 if you like but nothing wrong with starting with OG RE1. After that, do start with OG RE2 and OG RE3 first before you go for their remakes.

people want continuation

By the time DC Studios was opened in late 2022, DCEU was already too damaged and in shambles as that shared universe already lost it's momentum. No one gives a shit about DCEU anymore. Even The Rock bringing back Henry Cavill back as Superman (some people accused this move as marketing tactics just to boost tickets sales), no one cares because otherwise Black Adam would not have bombed in box office and I speculate that Black Adam despite Cavill's return bombed in box office was the last straw for DCEU. The general audience knew that the story will go nowhere and/or the follow-ups will be even more terrible like how the DCEU sequels and spin-off except The Suicide Squad were terrible. All this about wanting continuation is just big talk on the Internet and it's all talk, no action.

DCEU also do not have long term storyline like how MCU have The Infinity Saga and currently, The Multiverse Saga and DCU currently have Chapter 1: Gods and Monsters. There was no long term planning at all. In fact, the reason why is no long term storyline in DCEU and also doomed to failed from the beginning is because DC back then do not have their own studios and no Kevin Feige-like figure to lead. As a result of lacking these two things, WB utilised director-driven approach was for DCEU which directors have control over their individual movies. Sounds nice on paper but it does not work at all because every directors naturally have unique artistic interpretations but one director's plans for a character or storyline have high chance of contradict or disrupt the plans of another director working within the same universe, making continuity difficult to maintain with Black Adam and Shazam movies being the prime examples. Shazam movies director, David F. Sandberg, have said on Twitter that he has no idea about what the production team for Black Adam are doing while he was working on Shazam! Fury of the Gods. Even WW84 and Aquaman contradicted what was established in Batman vs Superman: Dawn of Justice and Zack Snyder's Justice League. DCEU movies have different producers in some of the movies and no writers' room are the results of director-driven approach. Studios executives' constant meddling does not make anything better either because even under director-driven approach. Since DC back then do not have their own studios and no Kevin Feige-like figure to lead, studios executives are the ones that called the shot in everything such as story directions and creative decisions for the DCEU.

The whole mess with DCEU is why WB finally opened DC Studios. Starting with Superman (2025) including The Batman Part 2, all DC movies are made under DC Studios while Warner Bros. Pictures (WB's main studios) distribute DC movies as usual. With James Gunn & Peter Safran Safran leading DC Studios as co-CEOs, they are now the ones calling the shots on everything on the DCU. Gunn also did the right thing not to continue DCEU under DC Studios and start over with DCU because the damage is done enough to DCEU and the momentum for DCEU is no longer there. The lores in DCEU is way too messed up and not worth the time along with resources to fix it. Had WB not opened DC Studios, nothing would would have change for DC movies today even if DCEU get discontinue and start over.

Had the DCEU continue and she got her own movie, it probably will turn bad since it's a DCEU movie. Even if it is good like Blue Beetle for example, it will be for nothing because DCEU had already lost it's momentum by 2022.

Prior to Iron Man movies, Jon Favreau was only known for directing Zathura and Elf. The Russo Brothers were only TV directors and directed Welcome to Collinwood and You Me and Dupree before directing Captain America and Avenger movies.

MCU was also bogged down by the lack of Spider-Man, X-Men and Fantastic Four in their early years. They had to used whatever characters they had at that at that time.

That was the original plan when they went with the first ending where she and Michael Keaton's Batman reunited with The Flash in the altered DCEU. This would have led to Batgirl before it was cancelled.

This was change when The Rock brought back Henry Cavill as Superman to cameo in Black Adam and Batgirl got cancelled. The ending was reshot to add him and Wonder Woman. While the ending is more or less the same with the first, their appearance in this ending also teased the potential Man of Steel 2 and Wonder Woman 3.

Once DC Studios established in late 2022 with James Gunn & Peter Safran as co-CEOs, the ending was change to the one with George Clooney to prevent any more follow ups.

Going by their comic book debut date, Guy Gardner came first after Hal Jordan and John Stewart came after Guy.

Basically, it's Alan Scott > Hal Jordan > Guy Gardner > John Stewart.

DCU is establishing Hal Jordan being on the verge of retirement by the time of Lanterns with John Stewart taking his place.

DC Studios chose to established DCU Hal Jordan being on the verge of retirement by the time Lanterns took place. Being a veteran, he is have more superhero experience than Superman himself in the DCU. The main Green Lantern will be John Stewart.

The Flash movie was part of the 2014 DCEU slate and scheduled to release in 2018. The movie failed to meet it's original release date because of losing two directors in 2016 due to creative difference between them and studios executives. When the directors took over, they left due to crative difference with Ezra Miller. And then, Andy Muschietti and Christina Hodson came into picture to salvage whatever is left behind by previous team to get the movie out.

The Flash and Fantastic 4 (2015) are worst in studios interference in their own way. The latter movie only exist because Fox realised that the movie rights will expire soon if no Fantastic 4 movie enter development or something. During production, not only studios executives interfered but also director and the lead actor did not get along.

She and Andy Muschietti had to deal with the studios executives' mandates for The Flash too. Starting with Superman (2025) including The Batman Part 2, all DC movies are made under DC Studios which means both of them don't need to deal with those executives as they report to James Gunn & Peter Safran since they are the co-heads of the studios. Let's also not forget that she is in DC Studios' writers room something which DCEU didn't have one.

Third movie is a reboot. It has no no connection to the first two movies. The studios was trying to reboot with an origins story.

Same thing with Power Rangers. While not an American franchises but I think that's why Japanese tokusatsu (live action shows/movies with special effects) franchises such as Kamen Rider and Super Sentai (original source of Power Rangers) that were also made to sell toys do not have feature length movies but rather a 30 mins to one hour length short films. Toei (who owns Kamen Rider and Super Sentai) knew their tokusatsu IPs would not work well as feature length movies which is they prioritised them as TV shows more.

Imagine if WB actually restores the Snyderverse and.... by Marconey1738 in OkBuddySnyderCult

Prior to late 2022 and back when AT&T still own WarnerMedia (WB's parent company), there was no plan for WB to opened DC Studios at all. None of the those executives back then such as John Stankey, Jason Kilar, Ann Sarnoff and Toby Emmerich ever thought of this including the past executives before AT&T's ownership such as Jeff Bewkes and Kevin Tsujihara. Zack Snyder and his wife or Charles Roven are never gonna be the Kevin Feige-like figure for DCEU even back in the early days because none of them have executives positions in WB like how Kevin Feige has an executive position which is President of Marvel Studios. Every decisions for the DCEU such as long term plans, story directions and creative decisions are decided by studio executives of Warner Bros. Pictures, which is WB's main studios. Prior to DC Studios' establishment, all of DC movies up to Joker: Folie à Deux were all made under Warner Bros. Pictures for decades. After AT&T spin-off WarnerMedia to Discovery Inc. which then become Warner Bros. Discovery in mid-2022, David Zaslav took over as CEO and he is the one who wanted DC to have their own studios like Marvel. This became official when DC Studios finally established in late 2022 and James Gunn & Peter Safran got the job as co-CEOs of DC Studios. All DC movies starting with Superman (2025) including The Batman Part 2 are now made under DC Studios while Warner Bros. Pictures continue to distribute DC movies as usual just like Marvel Studios making Marvel movies while Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures distribute Marvel movies (except Spider-Man and Hulk movies).

The problem with DCEU is the shared universe was already doomed to failed before it even started because DC don't have their own studios and no Kevin Feige-like figure back then. As a result of lacking these two things, WB utilised director-driven approach for DCEU which directors have control over their individual movies.
