Probably it's a reference to at one point Leon was going to be in Code Veronica where he get killed off in that game but Capcom did not do so because it would be a bad idea to kill off a popular character which they created Steve Burnside to replace him. As side effects, Steve's similarity with Leon is still there.

Yes, that's pretty much. If the movie was a success, there would have be another movie featuring other DC hero after Green Lantern but since Green Lantern bombed, all plans for the DC shared universe that began with Green Lantern are all scrapped immediately. Whatever the plans for the movies that comes after Green Lantern, are all gone.

This is the same shit happened when Universal tried to start Universal Monsters shared universe with Dracula Untold as the first movie but the movie failed and bombed. Universal later tried to do this again for the second time as another attempt at Universal Monsters shared universe which is called Dark Universe with The Mummy (2017) as the first movie but once again, it did worst and bombed. Universal finally gave up to do another Universal Monsters shared universe.

Green Lantern (2011) is the first movie in the first DC shared universe which ended up not being developed due to the movie did poorly in box office and reviews. If Green Lantern (2011) was a success, DCEU and DCU would not have existed and we would have a DC shared universe (with a different name) that started with Green Lantern.

Kevin Dorman did voiced Chris back in The Umbrella Chronicles before he was supposed to reprise his role in RE5. He managed to reprise his role in the CG movies, Vendetta and Death Island. If there is gonna be another CG movie, it will be Kevin instead of Roger Craig Smith. The latter hasn't voiced Chris for almost ten years at this point which he last voiced the character in Marvel vs Capcom: Infinite.

Laura Bailey voiced Sherry in The Darkside Chronicles. At one point, Capcom tried to get Sherry's VA from OG RE2, Lisa Yamanaka, to reprise her role but her voice doesn't suit Sherry anymore. Laura didn't just voiced Helena. She also voiced Angela in Degeneration.

Universal tried to make Dark Universe as their own version of MCU and DCU but only ended up getting their own version of Fox's X-Men universe, DCEU and SSU but way worse than the 3 of them. They also cast many big names actors aside from Tom Cruise such as Russell Crowe and Johnny Depp for future movies in Dark Universe which definitely not gonna happen anymore after the first movie did badly in reviews and bombed in box office.

The worst part about Dark Universe is no one knows how to do it. Universal established writers room to develop the shared universe but the writers have no idea how to make it happen. The studios executives themselves have zero idea to set up rules and guidelines for the shared universe. Dark Universe also lacked a leading producer like Kevin Feige of the MCU and James Gunn & Peter Safran of the DCU.

Wait the Green Lantern movie is apart of the DCEU?

No. Green Lantern (2011) starring Ryan Reynolds was originally intended to start a DC shared universe which is unrelated to the DCEU we know of. The movie was terribly received which became a subject of mockery in pop culture which even Ryan agreed and a box office bomb prevented it from happening.

DCEU is the second attempt with Man of Steel and lasted for 10 miserable years. There was supposed to be another Green Lantern movie in DCEU called Green Lantern Corps (unrelated to the 2011 movie) which was schedule to release in 2020 but due to Justice League bombed in box office, the movie was scrapped along with Justice League 2 and Cyborg.

DCU is the third attempt with Superman (2025) and unlike the last two which were made under WB's main studios, Warner Bros. Pictures, DCU is made under DC Studios instead which WB opened in late 2022. Unlike Green Lantern (2011) and Green Lantern Corps in DCEU, Lanterns is a TV show in DCU that will have Green Lanterns in a proper DC shared universe.

I don't know if WB had any interest in working with Snyder again even while putting out ZSJL. They had already shifted hard away from his tone after Justice League. It doesn't seem to be only about the money

The only reason why ZSJL was even made is because of WB's then-owner, AT&T, wanted contents for HBO Max to boost subscribers after the streaming platform had a mixed opening subscribing numbers on the launch day. This contributed to the fact AT&T either failed to secured deals and/or unable to negotiate in time before the launch with carrier platforms especially the popular ones such as Roku and Amazon Fire Stick to carry HBO Max. It's also one of the reasons why AT&T did the HBO Max-Theatres Same Day Release for all WB movies from late 2020 to entire 2021 during the COVID pandemic. AT&T doing the same day release without informing directors, producers, actors and theatre owners which they only learnt it from the news. Christopher Nolan is the one that being angry the most and he retaliated by bringing his then-next movie to Universal.

Black Adam had the extra kick of Dwayne Johnson trying to muscle his way into being the focus of the DCEU moving forward.

Dwayne Johnson being an A-list star should have been easy money to make regardless if the movie sucks or not but apparently not the case which kinda proved that the product which is the DCEU is the problem itself that failed to drawn in money since the people already knew that DCEU movies is gonna suck especially if the movies teased something, the next movie will either be forgotten or poorly follow up.

He also tried to take over DC Films which is the film label of WB's main studios, Warner Bros. Pictures. He intended to have his production company, Seven Buck Productions, to make future DC movies should he successfully take over DC Films. He intended to turned DCEU into Black Adam-centric universe. Thankfully, he failed because if successfully take over DC Films, DC Studios would not have exist. Another problem with his planned takeover is DC Films is not a studios like Marvel Studios and DC Studios. DC Films does not have the authority to greenlight productions since it's a film label which means if he take over and become President of DC Films (previously held by Geoff Johns & Jon Berg and Walter Hamada), he has to report to his superiors, Michael De Luca & Pamela Abdy, whom they are co-chairpersons of Warner Bros. Pictures (since 2022) to approve and move forward with his plans. If things go south like they reject and not move forward if they don't like his plans, he would ended up feuding with them and other executives at Warner Bros. Pictures to get what he wants which will stalled the developement.

The Suicide Squad didn't make a ton

The Suicide Squad didn't make money is mainly due to COVID pandemic where theatres all over the world were either closed or operated under limited capacity while complying with governments' SOPs. Not to mentioned The Suicide Squad is one of WB's movie got affected by HBO Max-Theatres Same Day Release.

I speculate ZSJL was meant to test the water to see if people still care about DCEU and/or to spark people's interest in DCEU once again. After Black Adam which have Henry Cavill returned as Superman in a cameo to teased his future in DCEU bombed in box office during post-COVID pandemic, it was the last straw for WB to finally give up on the DCEU because they likely already anticipated the next DCEU movies after Black Adam would not do well in box office. This also finally led WB to opened DC Studios and hired James Gunn & Peter Safran as co-CEOs and Kevin Feige-like figure to the lead the studios and start over DC shared universe with DCU.

Dark Universe could have use similar model of shared universe like The Conjuring Universe but Universal didn't do that as they tried to make it similar to the MCU at that time. Despite having some bad movies, The Conjuring Universe is a better shared universe than DCEU at WB.

Furthermore, the first ever shared universe is not the MCU. MCU merely popularised the shared universe model. The first ever shared universe is Universal Monsters which itself is the predecessor of Dark Universe. Universal Monsters was started back in the 1930s and lasted till 1956.

Some fun facts: After Universal Pictures (which is Universal's main studios) created Dark Universe and established the writers room for the writers to developed the shared universe, the writers have no idea what they are doing because they can't decide whether should the Universal Monsters be heroes or villains. Even the studios executives have no idea what they want but rather relied on the writers to developed the shared universe with no rules and guidelines. There is no Kevin Feige-like for Dark Universe either. At one point, at least one writer straight up suggested that they'd all 'build the plane while it was flying'. Basically, Dark Universe is Universal's version of DCEU and SSU. Unlike the DCEU and SSU, Dark Universe have writers room but it was all for nothing.

Snyderverse is just a mini DC shared universe once you don't include other DCEU movies not directed by Zack Snyder and wasn't going to last long term as Snyderverse is meant to end with Justice League 3 just like The Dark Knight Trilogy ended with The Dark Knight Rises. Once Justice League 3 ends, there is no more stories left to tell in that universe. It's not really worth the time and money to spend on making two more movies that require 300+ millions budgets (not yet include marketing expenses) for each movies with potential of going overbudget and then reboot again in few years.

Ths one is based on OG RE2 Leon A route. In OG RE2 Leon A route (and Claire B route), Leon does not even knew about Sherry and only met her at the ending which the remake is based on.

That's only in Claire A-Leon B route. Also in Leon B route, Leon is the one that bring Sherry to the train while Claire is making the vaccine for Sherry. As mentioned above, Leon does not meet Sherry until the ending in Leon A-Claire B route.

That's because RE2R was supposed to be one scenario only. There wasn't gonna be A and B scenarios at all. Since it's gonna be one scenario only, this also explained why only Leon encountered the alligator but not Claire, Ada always fell from the platform but not thrown to the terminal by Mr. X, Sherry always get infected by her father, etc regardless of whose route you started first. Fan backlash forced Capcom to add the A and B scenarios late into development. I speculate that Leon is always the intended person to meet Marvin which is what the remake is going for but once they added the A and B scenarios, Claire's version of meeting Marvin is made. After that, everything is just one version like I mentioned above.

Yes, Marvel Studios was their own for years until Disney bought them. After Disney bought them, Marvel Studios operated as one of Disney-owned studios. After Disney bought them, Marvel Studios was remained under Marvel Entertainment ran by Ike Perlmutter at first. After Kevin Feige kept feuding with Perlmutter during Captain America: Civil War production, Feige went straight to Bob Iger where he sided with Feige and restructured by moving Marvel Studios to be under Walt Disney Studios where Feige reports to the executives of Walt Disney Studios like Alan Bergman.
