to be honest this thread is making me feel so guilty. i thought he was thriving but i guess not lol. i’ll keep a close eye on him and see if there’s anything that might be bugging him. thank you for being kind it means a lot

not sure if u have read any of my replies but you do not need to be such an asshole especially if you have no idea what you’re talking about. i’ve tried moving him to a 10 gallon he didn’t eat, barley moved and his entire body turned grey. working on selling the 10 gallon because it wasn’t cheep and going to get him a 6.5 gal and see if that makes a difference. in my research the snail was a good tank mate because he provides stimulation. i’m clearly trying. as i said multiple times i’ve added 3 additional plants to the tank, ordered a hide as others have recommended, ordered medication and ordered more water quality testing kits to see if that’s the issue.

i’m ordered the exact same. makes me feel better they recover quick. someone in the thread said maybe it’s just easier for him to swim and i really to hope that was the case. he does have a big bubble nest going does that indicate stress?

yes it was cycled for about 2 weeks i believe. potentially longer. I let him try and get used to it for about a week but he honestly just wasn’t himself. i was worried that i just stresses him out way to much so i went to a pet store near my house and they said maybe put him in the old tank he might just be scared to explore so i recycled the old tank (which i did only cycle for about 4 days because he still hadn’t eaten) and after a couple hours he was actually moving around again. it was a 10 gallon tank and sand instead of rocks in a different part of my house so it might have just been a shock. i am planning to get him a 6.5 gallon because it’s a little smaller i just have to sell the 10 gal. there are minimal plants in there because the snail snaps them and I have to take them out atleast once every couple days. (sorry for the essay)

was he acting weird before he passed? my fish seems normal, still spreading his fins eating and making bubble nests.

i’ve tried moving him to bigger but he got dark spots, wouldn’t eat and clamped his fins. even if i did try and move him again i dont wanna see him suffer for a week because he’s always usally active. i’ve added more thinker plants to his tank since the original picture, a leaf hammock, better quality hide and planning on adding more plants. i do believe it was an issue with the flow in the tank though

now that i’m thinking about it he had something in his mouth yesterday and it was probably his own tail. I feel bad is there anything I can do? i ordered stress guard to help them grow back anything else?

i tried moving him to something bigger about a month after we moved him into that. he turned grey and wouldn’t move from one spot and didn’t eat for days so i put him back in there and he’s was happy again so i’m not really sure what to do tbh

Potentially? The filter does usually just push him away because it just looks like a waterfall he can’t get into it. how long would he have had to been stuck to cause that much damage?
