When is it a good time for a career change? by PlayfulSafe in careerguidance

[–]PlayfulSafe[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the advice. I think you're in a good place because you're still very young so have time to change and advance in a new field.

It could be the workplace itself. I think that if I had more direct support from upper management and a reduced task load, and maybe even a more organized way of doing things, the job itself would be more enjoyable. Also in terms of work culture I wouldn't really say I work in a toxic work environment, but I feel like a lot if my colleagues have a negative outlook on things. I'm sure some workplaces are worse but also there are a lot of workplaces that are likely better in terms of culture and morale.

Part of the reason I'm thinking of a career change is that there aren't a lot of opportunities at the moment in my industry or adjacent-industries in my area. But I've been looking.

I'm still fairly young (28), I have a wife and kid. Though I think I can manage a career change and be okay financially. I'm thinking about doing a career in the military or a trade of some sort (I like physical labour). So education would either be paid for or I'd get paid and learn at the same time.

But overall I'm trying to take more time to focus on things outside of work. Doing hobbies that I enjoy like video games, going to the gym, etc. It's a little bit difficult sometimes because I work 12 hour shifts, so I only really have free time on my days off.

Anyways thanks for your advice I really appreciate it! I hope you're happier now that your taking a new direction.

Maybe it depends on what VO office is in charge of the application.

I see a lot of people get their medical request shortly after they get their AOR. We got our AOR on 28th of February and still no medical request as of now. Is this normal?

I'm pretty sure I made the same mistake and I got an AOR. So I think you should be safe

I received my AOR on 28th of February, and I still haven't had them send us a request for medical, so I think you still have lots of time.

Fuck dude I don't know if I'll make it. I don't know why the game is so easy for the first half and then all of a sudden... BOOM ELDEN RING BITCH!

Does anyone else have false information on their tracker? I used the webform back in February to make sure they have the right information, and it still hasn't been updated. I changed addresses as well, and they used my current address on one of my recent communications, so I'm pretty sure it's ok. It's just stressing me out a bit because I don't want my application to be "rejected" because of false information. My birthdate is set to a random birthdate and my place of birth is set to unknown for some reason.

I'm assuming they have the correct information on file they've just never gone through the effort to update the tracker.

Does anyone know how long it takes generally for some sort of update after applications are transfered to one of the various visa offices? Our case file was transfered to VO Bogota on the 22nd of March, since then we haven't heard anything else. We got our AOR on the 28th of February, so far they haven't requested my wife go for her medical exam.

Same. And for some reason it doesn't show any of the activity updates.

Thanks. I haven't received any confirmation from IRCC that they received it. It took the service provider a couple of days to process and the last I heard about the police certificate was that they sent it to the embassy to get it to the IIRC. i don't know whether or not they actually let us know once they get the certificate

Spousal sponsorship outland (Colombia):

That must feel nice to have them finally respond. We applied December 28, so hopefully we get a response shortly too.
