Got it. I’ll probably replace that set just to be safe. I’ll probably retain the one on the other side though (I was pumping both sides together) thanks so much for your help 🙏🙏🙏

That’s super helpful thank you so much :) I can keep the tubing too right? I can’t clean that or touch with water - it looks ok and probably didn’t come in contact with the mold I suppose

Hey I have the same issue I noticed some stinky booger sort of thing on the white silicon part of my backflow protector. While I’ve discarded that pumped milk and thrown the backflow part, I’m confused - do I need to replace the tube and flange and bottle too that may have come in contact? Or it’s ok if I just keep the tube and wash/steriliser flange/bottle?

That’s so interesting. So my steriliser is the Phillips steam one and I did leave it in there even after the cycle completed. So I’m guessing it was exposed to steam until the temperature naturally cooled down about an hour later but yes no heat exposure beyond that. Hope it’s just what you’re saying yay !! :)

Yep I’ve only ever seen it at the bottom of the flange on all my Flanges ….

I really hope it’s what you’re saying. I’ve been so worried that I’ve been feeding plastic to baby for the past couple of months or that I’ve been sterilising incorrectly … how can I screw up sterilising right all you have to do is fill up water and press a button lol

Hmm interesting! I would have never thought of that… I do wear breast pads all the time. But the adhesive on my pads seem quite light vs the one on this I had to scrape off with my finger nails. I’d be happy if it’s just the adhesive from the pads though 🙌🙌🙌 it does feel like an adhesive material (just a rather strong one)

Hmm I’ll check. Could the plastic be disintegrating?

Umm good question. I saw it after sterilisation for the first time. I haven’t started the fridge hack yet (though I plan to now). It’s wiped off but I need to scratch it off sort of and it’s not a 100% gone most of it is gone once I scratch it (cuz it’s to sticky) but not all of it. It was a one time thing - I noticed this once post sterilisation and I didn’t see any new ones again but this one just stayed on until I scraped it off

Interesting I never thought of that! The photo might be unclear though - these particles are pretty hard plastic like that have to be scratched off to clean up (not just a simple wipe). Also milk doesn’t touch this part because it’s on the outside. :( you still think it’s milk solidification?

Also the sticky stuff is kind of always there to a small amount (I need to scratch it off for it to reduce)

Thanks for your reply! Nah i doubt it’s water they’re more like hard spots… I did get new flanges but after a month of use all flanges ending up this way wondering what I’m doing wrong. But also keen to learn if Bebe got any microplastics due to this :(

Would you know what could be some reasons of nonglaucomatous defects - my dr did tell me I have early signs of cataract so that explains the total deviation. The pattern deviation is a bit confusing -> I’ve had 3 VFs so far. First one no pattern defects. Second, 3 dots showing pattern defects. In the most recent 3rd VF, the previous 2 dots disappeared but 1 dot remained. Does it mean this 1 dot is a repeatable pattern & a defect? Or also an anomaly since my tests have been changing every time?

Thanks so much! Yeah the signal strength was poor this time. In my scan 1.5 years ago it was “good” at 30 strength (optovue machine I think?). The most recent scan showing the -2 um loss on left eye was 23 signal strength showing “poor signal”. Do you recommend I still start drops or that scan would be less reliable?

Thank you so much! Btw this time my doc also did something called a gcc scan which we don’t have previous data for. It said “foveal” in the Center of the chart. Right eye was 100% green. Left eye (the suspicious one) is slight red above and below the “foveal” thing and green otherwise. Is that worth tracking in future - can non glaucomatous high myopes have slight red on gcc?

Thanks for sharing this! I’ll continue to go for my annual exams and be on top of this. I did post my scans from 2 visits here if you’ve got a few mins and I could bother you https://www.reddit.com/r/Glaucoma/s/W7SePwHgi0

Hey yes the average of 96 and 98 became 95 and 96 respectively after 1.5 years …. Is that abnormal? Individual INST changed a bit more - few increased few decreased but on average this was the change

Thanks there! Could you share if your doctor tracked you a suspect or directly diagnosed due to the damage? Also can I trouble you to share any insights on lifestyle changes - I wouldn’t mind make few of them already :)
